The deciding game is at Durham tonight (Wednesday) where their hosts took a 4-2 win in the opener last Wednesday. The winner of the series will advance against Mitchell. Meanwhile in the midget division, Durham and Wingham are playing a best -of -three, and Clinton and Mitchell a best -of -five in the opening round. Seaforth will play the winner of Durham and Wingham in a best -of -five. Seaforth's Peewee II and Bantam II squads won't begin playoffs until later this month. There is no OMHA novice playoff. But the Seaforth Novices will play a double round-robin, so two home games and two away for a total of eight games, with Milverton and Stephen Township in the WOAA championships. Goderich, Clinton, Wingham and Durham meet in the other opening round WOAA "CC" novice playoff. Play gets underway Feb. 15. Seaforth will play its first home game in the on Saturday Feb. 25 when they host Milverton at 4 p.m. Dumpers win tourney consolation TPC from Palmerston took the men's championship and Barrie the women's tide at the annual Seaforth-Egmondville Broomball Tournament on the weekend. Local teams were more successful on the consolation side of the 23 - team tournament, as the Dumpers nipped the Brussels Kings 2-1 for men's consolation honours, and Winthrop edged Brampton 1-0 in overtime to win women's consolation. TPC finished the three-day tournament by beating the Psychotics from Cambridge 2-0 for the championship. In the previous title game, Barrie Satellites played ball control and rarely let the Parr Line women penetrate their end, for another 2-0 triumph: CHAMPIONSHIP TPC 2, Psychotics 0 (men's) Barrie 2, Parr Line 0 (women's CONSOLATION Dumpers 2, Brussels 1 Winthrop 1, Brampton 0 (OT) PRELIMINARY, MEN'S P Line 3, Palmerston Rams 2 (01) Psy09tics 2, CW Juyeniles 0 , A,r i S,{4tiers. 0, drads 2, Brussels Kings 1 Wolves 2, Royals 0 POW 1, BlocQO(OT) 8th Liners 1, Winthrop 0 GREGOR CAMPBELL PHOTO DUMPERS STRIKE - Frank Verbeme (27) of the Dumpers parks one past the Bloc Q goalkeeper in the consolation semi-finals of the annual Seaforth-Egmondville Broomball Toumament at the Seaforth and District Community Centres on the weekend. The Socialite goalie kept them in the game also - great play- ing by Patti Henderson. Parr Line Ladies' esteem seemed to be run- ning far behind the play and also on trying to shoot and being able to score anymore goals, a quicker pace will be needed for the tourneys this year! WINTHROP 4 - PERTH 1 Perth goes all out and believe it or not score the first goal as Jill Woods slips the ball through the opposing goalie's feet. Jill had back up from Sue Riley. Winthrop gets a little impatient and decides it's time to get on the scoreboard, as goals were achieved by Janice Finlayson, Tammy Nash, dynamite Deb, lots of help from Sandra Mclnally and Pam Dale. EASY RIDERS 1 WINTHROP 0 Winthrop blew plenty of chances to score on empty nets and breakaways, they also were lucky to keep to this low level as it was for a 1-0 for Riders. Hero for their game was Robert McGregor for Riders as he scores the only goal, plenty of assistance from Jeff Hoelscher and Ed Van Miltenburg: Centenaires in tight race The Seaforth Centenaires had a rare weekend off as the stretch drive took shape around them in the tight Western Division race of the Ontario Hockey Association's Junior "D"evelopment League. With five points separating the four teams in the middle of the nine -team pack, third through sixth place are still very much up for grabs as the race enters its final weeks. When the ice chips cleared after last weekend's action the Centenaires were still sitting in fourth place with a 17-15-3 record, still one point behind Exeter in third, but with Belmont and Lucan both inching closer in fifth and sixth. Tonight (Wednesday) the Centenaires play an important game at Lucan against the red-hot Irish Six, who were winless in their first 10 games but have been one of the houer teams in the division since with a 15-8 record. But by the same token, if you subtract the Centenaires' disastrous November when they only won once in 10 games, they have been no slouches either chalking up a 16-6 record. Friday night the Centenaires play their final home game of this re*ular season when they host the Mitchell Hawks at 8:30 p.m. Overage veteran winger Ted Sills will be back in action for the Cents in this one. He recently returned to thes roster after coming back from Alberta and British Columbia, where he was working. Going into tonight's action Exeter, Belmont and Lucan all have a garne in hand on the Seaforth Juniors with six remaining. The Cents have five. The Hawks have two games with both Port Stanley and Mt. Brydges, Mitchell, Lambeth and tonight's game. Jan 26, 1995 PARR LINE 1 - GRADS 1 The Grads' first goal scored by Mr. Smoothie Craig Smith, as he stickhandles around four guys, shoots and scores. His helpers were Al Wynja and Mac O'Neill. How- ever Parr Line wakes up after 40 winks and has Claude Poirier run down the ice who flips the ball directly into the net to tie the game. DUMPERS 11 - RUSTLERS 1 Oops! Dumpers' goalie did it again, as he goes to hit the ball across the ice, another Rustler sneaks by and picks up the pass and flips it in the air and into the net it rolls. Rustler goal Jason McLeod. Dumpers chalk up goals by Jerry Wright, Bretsky, Gary Dill and Mike Maloney, assistance from Dennis Murray, Don Henderson, John Cairns and Dale Kennedy. KNIGHTS 2 - ROYALS 0 The Royals were running all over the ice, knocking people here and there but never having anyone to score goals. The Knights' new recruit Mark Louwagie scores the first goal and second goal by Jeff Campbell. Quick defensive help from Paul Janmaat and Steve Hulshof.
