Steep, Coleman,
Doig bowl well
on Thursday
On Jan. 12, the Buds just kept
on rolling and extended their
lead over the second -place
Wannabees to eleven points.
The Buds, led by John
Coleman's 301-649 and Gary
Bedard's 212, took all seven
points from Murray's Marauders
despite strong efforts from Todd
Doig 284,202-650 and Deb
Bedard 206.
The Wannabccs were in tough
against the Falling Pins and took
only three of the available seven
points on the strength of an
outstanding first game (the
highest one game team total so
far this year - 1340). The Fall-
ing Pins however, were stiurred
on to come up strong and take
the next two games and four
points. Good games for the
Falling Pins came from Diana
Steep 195-498, Betty Coleman
198-522, Ingrid Doig 208-534
and Ralph Johnston 305-637.
Wannabees all-star games came
from Steve Steep 210-232; Stan
Mailloux 248; Brian Barry
274,239-651; Tracy Klaver 206-
519 and Sandra Klaver 203,240-
602.
The third match -up saw the
Wolverines scrape a little closer
to the rest of the pack with a
five point to two win over the
Boozin Brewers. Forging a path
for the Wolverines were Mike
Thomson 244,259,271-774; Sue
Alce's 496 triple and a 184
from new bowler Karsten
Carroll. Solid showings for the
Boozin Brewers were charged to
Doug Leonhardt 298, 232-733;
Trevor Price 252, and Nancy
Sue Thomson 536 triple.
The updated team standings
are: The Buds - 70; Wannabees
- 59; Falling Pins - 49; Murray's
Marauders - 49; Boozin Brewers
- 46; and Wolverines - 42.

The Thursday Nighters
Bowling League hopes that
everyone had a very Merry
Christmas and a Happy New
Year. After missing a week of
bowling between Christmas and
New Year's, it took a few tosses
before eyeryone was,jtack into
the groove. Jan. 5 was another
night of superb bowling. There
was Patricia Schwarz's 213 and
John Coleman's 354.
Over on lanes one and two
Murray's Marauders took two
games and total pins over the
Boozin' Brewers. Showing the
Brewers how it is done were
Murray Bennewies 206,312,240-
758; Erich Matzold 234; Bonnie
Janmatt 183 and Todd Doig
218,208. Top bowlers for the
Brewers were Doug Lconhardt
226,296-712 and Nancy Sue
Thomson 199-565.
The Buds outbowled the
Wannabccs 7-0. There was an
adding mistake in game two that
gave the Buds the game. This
team has been near or at the top
of the league with the help of
John Colman 354,284-799; Gary
Bedard 210,210,259-679 and
Patricia Schwarz 213-574. The
Wannabccs arc usually right in
there fighting it out with The
Buds. Bowling great games for
the Wannabces were Steve
Steep 222; Brian Barry 209,213-
603; Pat Ryan 182 and Tracy
Klaver 189-524.
The Falling Pins keep right on
moving up every week. This
time they managed to take five
points while the Wolverines
only took two. With games like
Doug Procter's 235,201-626;
Ralph Johnston's. 248,203-613;
Diana Steep's 197-554 and
Betty Coleman's 199 how could
they go wrong. The Wolverines
got some help from Mike
Thomson 207, 203,239-649 and
Connie Trotter 185.
Team Standings: The Buds -
63; Wannabccs - 56; Murray's
Marauders - 49; Falling Pins -
