Heart, Stroke Foundation warms up chilly winter with soup
Huron and area residents will
have 12 varieties of hot, soups to
choose from on a chilly day in
February! The Huron Chapter of the
Heart and Stroke Foundation of
Ontario has planned for Thursday,
Feb. 2, 1995 at the Royal Canadian
Legion Branch 109 in Goderich
from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The 'Souping it up' luncheon is
the Huron Chapters kick-off to
Heart and Stroke Month and every-

funds for research and health pro-
motion.
Seniors post
good scores
With no time off for a holiday,
the Seniors have commenced their
1995 season with new teams and a
real zest for bowling, as some very
good scores were posted.
Ron Bennett with nine strikes
produced a high single 341 which
will be hard to surpass. He also had
high triple 676.
Joyce Wallace who is improving
each week, had high single 220 and
Olave Little, always a steady bow-
ler had high triple 570.
Others bowh g over 200 were
Charlie Perkins 3, 267 and triple
653; John Van n 216, 22 and
triple 629; Eric Matzold 240; Oliver
Pryce 230 and Campbell Wey 203.
Bowling well over their averages
were Pauline Bennett, Marilyn
Hodgert, Sandy Doig; Shirley
Strong, Betty Oldacre, Ken
McDonald, Don Wood, Betty
Hulley and Watson Reid.
Only one team "the Oilers" had a
perfect day capturing all three
games and seven points.
University women
volleyball team has
clinic at SDHS
The University of Western
Ontario's Womens' Volleyball
Teams will be at Seaforth District
High School this Friday from 4 to 8
p.m. giving a clinic for the high
school's junior and senior girls
teams.
Those local volleyball teams will
also host what will probably be
their only home games of the
season this Thursday aftemoon,
starting at 2 p.m.
