IN THE SPIRIT OF GIVING - These four youngsters Teamed a little about giving last week when they
brought presents to The Giving Tree at Deloitte & Touche in Seaforth, for the Huron County Christmas
Bureau. The youngsters are Alex Melady, 20 months old; Rachel Robinet, 21/2 years; Samantha Robinet,
21 years and two-year-old Haden Campbell. On the tree there are small cards outlining what Is needed
by families in Huron. Until Dec. 9 someone can bring in toys, clothing or other gifts to the Christmas
Bureau.

('raft, Doll Show and Sale on
Dec. 3 and Dec. 4. There will
also be a card show for the
sports card collectors. This show
and sale will be held at the
Agricultural Exhibiton Centre.
The Happy Citizens Club of
Scaforth will be holding its
annual Christmas Dinner at the
Seaforth Legion. Dinner will
begin at 12 noon on Thursday,
Dec. 1. All members who have
purchased their tickets arc wel-
come.
Scaforth and Arca Dining Out
N, ill be held at the Scaforth and
District Community Centres
every third Thursday of each
month. The next dinner will be
held on Dec. 15. Any Senior or
(physically -disabled adult are
cry welcome to come out and
enjoy a delicious meal for only
S7. After dinner entertainment is
provided. This program is spon-
sored by the Town and Country
Homemakers of Huron County.

Scaforth Minor Sports Council
would like to invite you to a
night of Bingo. Every Monday
evening beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Junior Farmers
host winter
games
The Huron County Junior
Farmers are hosting the 1995
Zone -7 Winter Games in the
Clinton area on Jan. 14, 1995.
Zone -7 Junior Farmers consists
of club members from the fol-
lowing counties: Huron, Penh,
Bruce and Grey. They are all
engaging for the right to repre-
sent the area at the provincial
level. The Provincial Games will
be in Petrolia on Feb. 18.
The Clinton Bowling Lanes
will host the striking bowling
competition. Central Huron
Secondary School will be the
action site for the volleyball and
basketball bragging rights. The
Vanastra Curling Club will host
the bonspiel. Cross Country
Skiing and Badminton will be
run at the Clinton High School if
there is enough entrants.
Bayfield Area will hold the
broomball matches.
Huron County Junior Farmers
is an active group of 35 mem-
bers based in the Clinton and
Seaforth area and people inter-
ested in Teaming more can call
523-4458 or 527-2525. The club
has completed a successful year
by hosting foreign delegates,
banquets, dances, sport tourna-
ments and a blood donor clinic
locally. Fred Peel, club president
and Hank Nyman, provincial
director and the executive wish
to build on this year's success to
host more activities and find new
members to keep the future
bright. New projects include a 4-
H club project and informal
volleyball and bowling nights.
Club membership is open to
rural and urban young people 15
to 30 years and is free to first
year members.

Choral feast
for Clinton
A choral feast of seasonal music
with the Blyth Festival Singers
takes place on Dec. 11 at Wesley -
Willis Church, Clinton.
The programme will feature
excerpts from Bach's Christmas
Oratorio, the Jazz Gloria by Natalie
Sleeth, the German Lullaby of the
Shepherds, and many old favorites
of the season.
The trumpet of Julie Meyers who
will be a guest performer, is well
known in the area. The Goderich
native is a graduate of The Univer-
sity of Western Ontario, having
studied with Jim Ford and Eric
Schultz. Julie currently plays with
Brass Roots.
Well-known children's choir
director Joan Perrie will bring the
Brussels Junior School Choir to
perform with the Festival Singers in
the afternoon concert, accompanied
by Joanne King.
Under Choral Director Wade
Whittaker, the Blyth Festival
Singers are about to present their
fifteenth concert of Christmas music
to the region.
