Couple celebrates anniversary
Happy Anniversary to Joyce and
Gene Marcuccio who celebrate 21
years of marriage on Nov. 24.
The Walton Community Hall was
used this past Saturday to hold an
Open house. Tables featured Toys,
Jewellery, Cosmetics, clothing and
baking and crafts by the Women's
Institute. They plan to hold another
such event in the Spring.
Leona McDonald went west to
Calgary to visit her daughter Karen.
While- in the area she travelled to
Red Deer to see 'Skate Canada'.
Karen came back to Walton with
Leona and visited with friends and
family that she hadn't seen for
some time. She returned home last
Tuesday to see snow covering the
ground.
I was talking to Dianne
McCallum last week who just
returned from Providence, Rhode
Island. Dianne, Ruth Axtmann and
Margaret Whitmore (leader of the
Chorus) are the Walton -area women
who sing with the Harmony Hi-
Lites from Seaforth and they, along
with 24 other members, travelled by
bus to sing at the internationals.
Another Canadian chorus won the
event. The Seaforth chorus will host
the International event next year in
London.

Hay municipal
building receives
federal grant
A $270,450 project in the
Township of Hay has been
approved under the
Canada/Ontario Infrastructure
Works program, Huron -Bruce
MP Paul Steckle, Huron MPP
Paul Klopp and Reeve Lionel
Wilder announced today.
Funding will be used to con-
struct a. new municipal building
housing council chambers, a
committee room, office space
and record storage area.
Improvements also include land-
scaping, furnishings and com-
puter upgrades.
This project will create an
estimated 129 person -weeks of
employment.
Work is scheduled to start in
Spring of 1995 and should be
completed by September 1995.
Grants to aid Blyth
stream project
The projects in the Village of
Blyth worth $75,743 have been
approved under the
Canada/Ontario Infrastructure
Works program, Huron -Bruce
MP Paul Steckle, Huron, MPP
Paul Klopp and Reeve David E.
Lec announced on Nov. 18.
Funding of $38,505 will be
used to construct a facility to
store salt and sand. This will
eliminate the problem of run-off
into Blyth Brook, and assist in
the rehabilitation of the Blyth
Brook cold water fish stream
which is being undertaken by the
Ministry of Natural Resources,
the Village of Blyth, and the
local Optimist Club and Cubs
and Scouts organization. Work is
scheduled to start immediately
and should be completed in
November 1994.
Funding of $37,238 will be
used to install high-pressure
sodium, energy-efficient lights
on Main street. Work is sched-
uled to start in June 1995 and
will be completed in October
1995.
Bluevale man
winner of award
for Conservation
The conservation efforts of a
community group and six indi-
viduals were recognized at a
meeting of the Maitland Valley
Conservation Authority (MVCA)
held in Wroexeter on November
16.
Conservation Award Certifi-
cates were presented to the
Maitland Trail Association; Tony
and Julie Emond, of Elma
Township; Glen Warwick, of
Bluevale; Don Eadic of
Tumbcrry Township; Martin
Pronk of Minot Township; and
the World Watchers Nature
Club, at the Lucknow Public
School.
Walton school
honoured for
initiative
The Huron County Board of
Education awarded $400 from
the Director's Incentive Fund to
Helen Crocker and teaching staff
at Walton Public School in
response to their self -initiated
training in computer literacy.

Jamaica. Actually it was a family
trip with their three daughters and
their husbands and two
grandchildren going along. Doug
said from their hotel room on the
ninth floor the water was so clear in
the bay they could see the bottom.
They visited old friends who they
have met over the past ten years.
He said dinner for two was $423
Jamaican ($22 Canadian) and that
Seniors got $60 Jamaican a month
which is $3 Canadian. Doug and
Marg will be travelling to Windsor
this week to attend the funeral of
Pat Woods, Clayton Fraser's
mother-in-law.
If you happened to turn on TV on
Saturday morning this past weekend
to channel 13 to watch Big Top
talent you would have seen Kelly
McDonald, Alicia Dalton and Kelly
Dalton step -dancing. Next week on
the same channel, at 8 a.m. you
will see other Walton girls perform.

Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. in Walton.
For children's story. Rev. Banks
asked who would like to be a King.
When a hand came up Rev. Banks
placed a crown n his head and
asked the kingYwhat his house
looked like. With some help m
describing the place it turned out
that it was a very fancy castle. A
queen was chosen to wear the
crown and was asked what her
clothes would look like. A fancy
dress (pink) would be worn by this
queen. Jesus was called 'King of
the Jews' but he wore no royal
robes or a crown. When Pilate
asked him, if he was a king Jesus
answered that his kingdom was not
of this world. Jesus only wanted to
be king of our hearts and that the

Legion donates to
hockey
At the general meeting of
Seaforth Legion Branch 156 last
Thursday donations were made
including $152 for 400 Canadian
Flags for the Minor Hockey league
sweaters; 5100 for booklets for
'Two Colours' projects for grade 8
students at Seaforth Public School.
Seven new members were passed.
They will be initiated at a later
date. Tickets for the New Year's
Eve dinner and dance are on sale at
the Branch to members until Dec. 8
after which they will go on sale to
the public. Please get yours as soon
as possible there is a limited num-
ber. The Chris Black Orchestra will
be playing.
There will be another in -branch
meat draw on Saturday, Nov. 26.
Also held that day will be the Zone
Euchre tournament.
The Ladies' Auxiliary annual
Christmas dinner will be held on
.Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. If you

Woodworkers' last, meeting. ,

The St. Columban 4-H Club
"Woodworkers" held their last
meeting on November 17. The
minutes were read and accepted.
The three groups split up and
worked with their own group. The
"Woodworkers" put the finishing
touches on their apples and worked
on their books. The groups will
rejoined to end the meeting. Amy
Dekroon closed the meeting, sec-
onded by Brad Murray. Achieve-
ment night will be on December 12
at 7:30 p.m.
