Look! Winthrop Ladies' Janice Finlayson gets a 'Hat Trick'. This is the real Janice. 'Wee Barbie contributes to a single goal. GRADS 3 - EASY RIDERS 2 Grads start going ahead in goals in the second half of the game, goals by Raymond Ruston and Martin Wynja direct passing from Mac O'Neil, Craig Smith, Al Wynja and Tony Van Den Huevel. The Riders first goal scored by a one hand swing crossed over and flipped into the net by Jim Butson. Hey only one second left and Jeff Allen did the courtesy thing and put the ball directly into the net quick pass from Rob McGregor. Great game guys, as it could have went either way. MEN'S BROOMBALL November 17, 1994 WINTHROP 3 RED RUSTLERS 1 The Rustlers' Earl Flynn shoots from blue line and the opposing team player tips the shot directly into the top corner of the net, a superb goal unassisted. However, the Winthrop team cleaned up with three quick goals, scored by Mike Thomas, Dwayne Pryce and Steve Knight. Keen passing by Bruce Pearn, Jerry Bremner, Scott Leonhardt, sly Blaine Marks. PARR LINE 1 - ROYALS 0 The Royals out played, out shot but did not out score in this game. These guys worked hard to keep it at this low margin, great perform- ance by the Royals. The winning goal was scored Mark Krahn for Pan Line men. DUMPERS 12 - RAIDERS 1 Raiders are quite pleased to score at least one goal against the Dumpers. To make 'Mr. Young' look like a sieve (ha ha Colin). Dumpers have lots of hat tricks by Brett Finlayson, John Cairns also, singles go out too Gary Dill, Ron Pryce, Dale Kennedy, Frank Verberne and Dennis Murray. Raiders goalie had so many shots on him it was unbelievable. Men's Broomball on November 24, 1994 at 9 p.m. - Grads vs Parr Line; 9:50 p.m. - Rustlers vs Dumpers; 10:40 p.m. - Royals vs Knights. Ringers defend title at Forest .Ringette tournament On the weekend the Seaforth Novice Ringers defended their title in the annual Forest Ringette tour- ney. The Ringers handily won the first game 8-2, later beating Stratford 9-1. Goals and assists by Shannan Brooker, Suzanne Coleman, Courtney Fischer, Kayla Flanagan, Mary Finlayson, Nicole Kistner, Erin Van Dooren, Amanda Van Miltenburg, Randi Wilson, Kim Van Miltenburg, Jenny Phillips, Brette Deitz, and Monica Eckert. In the medal game the ringers took on the hot Exeter squad. Nicole Kistner opened the scoring with a nice pass from Sharman Brooker. Exeter came back to tip it up. Mary Finlayson hustled to pop one in for Seaforth with help from Jenny Phillips. Exeter evened it up ag•i ' with only 1:50 left in the game. The coaches were pacing when . of the sudden mighty Shannon :rooker flipped a quick shot past the Exeter goalie with only 12 seconds remaining. Our awsome goalie for the game Erin Van Dooren made and outstanding save in the final seconds to keep Seaforth in the game. The final score was 3-2. The Ringers defended a well- earned gold medal because of their hustle, keen passing and superb back -checking. Way to go, girls! The coaches congratulate you all on a great day of ringette!
