In 1951 during the Korean conflict. Charles Scott *
She joined the R.C.A.F. at Noah
Bay, Ont. Her basic training was at
St. Johns, Quebec., and then she Gordon Scott *
was posted to Clinton R.C.A.F.
Station to take a communications
course. After graduation she was
stationed to the #1 Air Radio
Officers school as an instructor in
air to ground communication. In
1953 she was sent to the East Coast
to participate in the War Games.
She remained at R.C.A.F. Station,
Clinton as an instructor until her
discharge at the end of April 1954.
It was then she married a Seaforth
native, Alvin Regier.

Sergeant Francis C.J. Sills,
R.C.A.F. Born and raised in
Seaforth, enlisted after 14 trips to
the recruiting office in London.
Took Radio Course at University of
Toronto. Overseas to radar course
at Yatesbury, Wiltshire up to night -
fighter squadron #141, Heathfield
Scotland, then over to two types of
Radar Stations, Roddans Port and
Ballinderry in Northern Irealand.
Posted to North Africa and then
to Mobile Radar Servicing unit in
Italy attached to American 5th
Army. Served up west side
including Anzio Beach Head and up
to Leghorn. Sent in to France on
the invasion near the Riviera. With
the American 7th army and French
1st. Germans soon began to retreat
because of Falaise Cape.
Back to Italy and then to England,
married, came back to Canada and
down to Scoudouc, N.B. Discharged
August 1945. Total service 4 years
6 months and 4 of those years were
with the Royal Air Force.
THOMAS D. SILLS
Flying officer Thomas D. Sills
served in Militia in Seaforth then
joined the Air Force in 1940 as an
accountant. Remustered to aircrew
D'Orlean and Tom SIUa, flying
officer.
In times of peace

D'ORLEAN SILLS
Sergeant G. D'Orlean Sills, born
and raised in Seaforth. A member
of Huron Middlesex Militia which
was never mobilized. Joined the
airforce where they utilized his
trade of plumbing and heating by
giving him a roving assignment of
many airdromes from Ontario to the
queen Charlotte Islands checking
and giving advice on problems. He
died in 1994.
