ALBERT McFADDEN
Albert McFadden was a star of
the Seaforth Beavers intermediate
hockey team that made it to the
OHA finals against Whitby in 1940.
Born in Stratford, Mr. McFadden
served as a Private from 1943-45.
He was killed shortly after being
parachuted into Holland.

MEL MERRIAM
A Seaforth resident, Melvin Floyd
Merriam served as Shipwright from
1942 until the end of 1945.
Merriam, now 87, enlisted with
Glen Smith but the two men ended
upserving at opposite coasts of
da.
He went in as a Class 1 Ship-
wright and developed up to Warrant
Officer on the cruiser Uganda in
Victoria, B.C. He was in charge of
the ship for several months.
He is one of the first members of
Legion Branch 156. He was injured
in 1943.
