MacKay Angus MacLean * ANGUS MacLEAN Angus MacLean died in 1990 in Seaforth, where he had lived since 1924. He was born in the Hebrides, Isle of Lewis, and served as a Sgt. with the Royal Canadian Regiment first in Sicily and later at Naples, Italy. Upon his return he worked for the Duncan Shoe Factory in Seaforth, first as a stitcher but later becoming plant manager. Mr. MacLean's two brothers also served: Don, who died in 1964, with the army's Perth Regiment, and Don, with the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve. MACRAE Mr. MacRae was born near Parkhill but now lives on Mill St. in Dublin. He was a Sgt./ Flight Engineer with the Royal Canadian Air Force's 427 Squadron, and served from 1943 - 46 in Canada, England and Wales. Lt. Colonel MacTavish * Clarence Malone CLARENCE MALONE Clarence Malone was born on the 4th Concession of McKillop Township in 1911. He was a Private in the Canadian Postal Corps and served from 1942-45 in Trenton, Ont. and Newport, USA. After leaving the armed forces he went to work for Robert Bell Industries in Seaforth until his retirement. He died in 1985. Keith MacLean * Margaret MacLennan Patrick Maloney * William Manson * Frank Marshall Barry Marshall George McAdam * Secord McBrien * Angus McCallum George McCartney * Robert McCartney * Art McClure We remember those who sacrificed for us SEAFORTH SHELL A Division of EDWARDS FUELS 527-1960 17 Goderich St. Seaforth Peter Malcolm Wilbert Maloney PETER MALCOLM Peter Malcolm was born in Perth, Scotland and served for seven years as a peacetime soldier with the British Reserve. When war broke out he enlisted with the famed Black Watch Regiment, the 51st Highland Division of the Scottish Territorial Army. On June 5, 1940 Mr. Malcolm's unit was trapped at Dunkirk. They were captured by the Germans and forced to march 800 miles to a POW camp in Germany/Poland. He remained a POW for five years, his weight dropping from 130 to 87 lbs. during captivity. When liberated he returned to Scotland, emigrating to Canada in 1953. From 1982 to 1984 he was President of Seaforth Branch 156 of the Royal Canadian Legion. He lives on High St, Seaford'. WILBERT MALONEY He joined the Navy, November 4 1940 at Kinston, Ontario. Follow- ing basic training at Halifax he was drafted to the Canadian Destroyer H.M.C.S. St. Laurent. He spent 1941 in North Atlantic Convoys. Early in 1942 he took the torpedo course in Halifax and also obtained his Leading Seaman rating after which he spent sometime in coastal patrols from Halifax and Newfoundland. In 1943 he volunteered for the new Canadian flotilla of Motor topedo boats and served as torpedo Caxon on board the M.T.B. 462.
