C.M. (GUS) CROCKER
Capt. C.M. Crocker was enlisted
from Sept., 1941 to Nov., 1945.
He was with the Training
Command in Canada at 165 Sqd.
Edmonton, Alberta, Heavy
Transport. He worked for Trans-
Canada Air Lines from Nov. 1
1945, (Air Canada), until he retired
Dec. 1, 1979 with 24,900 hours.

EDMUND DALY
FLT/Lieut Edmund Daly R.C.A.F.
Built Seaforth's first workable radio
at age 14. Took an advanced course
in electronics in 1938 at
Washington. As a result in early
1940 the Canadian government
asked him to take part in a new
venture that turned out to be radar.
Took a course at Yatesbury Eng-
land. Sent out to Isle of Lewis to
build a radar station and the same
year helped build one at Beer,
England. He was one of the first 40
Canadians engaged in radar. Next
sent to the Sahara Desert in N.
Africa as C.O. of a mobile radar
station. Under General Auche N.
Lack in the retreat from Tobruk to
Egypt and then back up again under
General Montgomery in the 1,200
mile advance to Cape Bon and the
defeat of the Germans.
Invalided home and later posted
to the Canadian west coast before
discharge. He had a very rigorous
time on the desert and narrow
escapes.

FRANK DEVEREAUX
Frank Devereaux P/0 killed in
action May 28, 1944 at the age of
22. He is buried in Brabant
Belgium. He was a pilot flying in
Halifax bomber. All six crew mem-
bers were killed and three aircraft
out of six on this mission were
missing that night.

BOB DEVEREAUX
Bob Devereaux L.A.C. joined Air
Force Aug. 1942 went overseas
April, 1944 spent time in Topcliff,
Learning, 427 Squadron - Linton, in
Yorkshire. He was a transport
driver ad was overseas 1' yrs. He
returns home on leave and was to
go to Pacific but didn't as the War
ended.

EMMERSON F. DURST
Emmerson F. Durst joined the
militia (Huron -Perth Regiment) in
Goderich in August, 1940, later
transferring to Seaforth and attained
the rank of `Infantry Sargeant'.
Joined the Navy in May of 1944
as an E.R.A (Engine Room Artifi-

cer) and served on the East coast at
Cornvallis, North Sydney and Hali-
fax, discharged in March 1946.

Ex William Drennan (Bill), joined
R.C.A.F. Nov. 1941, Released from
C.A.F. Apr. 1971.
Trained as a Acro Engine Mech-
anic - Stations Repair Depot
Trenton, Centralia, Dorval, Jcmco
Beach 6 Repair Depot Vancouver
on salvage and repair which took
him to almost every station on the
West Coast as far north as Sita. He
was at Boundary Bay when the war
ended.
Transfered to 6 Repair Depot
Trenton storing aircraft and closing
station through Ontario. Back to
Centralia training pilots for NATO.
1952 to Camp Borden teaching gas
turbine for Sabre and C.F. 100
Aircraft. In 1958 to Marville,
France while there he was deployed
to Ravat, Morocco, Caglaria Island
of Sardinia. 1962 to Winnipeg.
1966 to Trenton 437 Tansport
Squadron, Deployed to Dusseldorf
Germany, Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.
He made three trips around the
world on Canadian Consulant
resupply. Released April 10, 1971.
Started work April 13, 1971 as
Stationary Engineer.
Speak not of battles
