HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Huron Expositor, 1994-11-02, Page 11Right place, right time for Parr Line goalie in ladies' broomball action OCT. 26, 1994 PARR LINE 0 - WINTHROP 0 Great game, great score, but Winthrop had ample chances to be on the scoreboard but the opposing goalie 'Norm' just happened to be in the right place at the right time. However Parr Line seemed to be shooting 'wide' of the net - next week ladies may prove to more prosperous for both. SOCIALITES 1 - PERTH 0 Overtime seemed beneficial for the Socialites as Joan H. H. pushes the ball into the empty net, great passes from Tracey Eckert and Liz Coghlin. Perth played good broomball but never got the breaks. ROYALS 1 - RAIDERS 0 Hey! Mr. Gord Mills, I think has been practising all summer as he scores a quick -action goal, assisted by Dale McCarthy and Chuck Mills. Hang in there, Raiders, the season has just begun. BROOMBALL OCT. 27, 1994 KNIGHTS 5 - RUSTLERS 0 The Knights came on strong as four goals were scored within the first eight minutes of the game. Goals were scored by Larry Baer, Jim Nyenhuis, Jody Durand and Mr. Steve Selves, defensive help from Mr. Hugill. Rustlers got down after the first four goals and C4th Ringers continued from page 10 as St. Mary's had the heat on until the final buzzer sounded. On Sunday afternoon the Ringers returned to the ice to face the Seaforth Novice A.D. team. Closely matched with end to end play, the Ringers once again came out on top with a final score of 5-3 in favour of the Ringers. Stupendous defensive play by Amanda Van Miltenburg, Shannon Brooker, Monica Eckert, Erin Van Dooren couldn't seem to pull themselves together again. GRADS 3 - DUMPERS 1 Grads outdid themselves in this game as they outplayed, out -beat and out -scored the Dumpers. Goals for Grads were given to sly Tony Van Den Huevel and she Dana Bean. Quick passes from Mac O'Neil and Chris Goris. Dumpers' lone goal by weary Gary Dill, help by Dennis Murray and thats' all folks. EASY RIDERS 3 PARR LINE 0 Easy Riders start coring in the second half of the game with quick - draw Darrel Eckert grabbing two goals and a single to Mr. J. Butson. They couldn't have succeeded without the help from Steve Eckert Jr., Rob McGregor and Jeff Allen. O.K., Parr Line's goalies is really confused as the shots are coming from everywhere but he managed to keep the game at a low -margin score, good game by Roy Fisher. Mary Finlayson was superb in net, allowing only three goals. Nicole Kistner led the offensive scoring machine with lots of help from Jenny Philips. Courtney Fischer, Suzanne Coleman, and Randi-Lynn Wilson. Great checking and passing by the whole novice squad '- keep up the good work!
