PARK SIGNS ERECTED - Volunteers from the Seaforth and District Lions Club helped
to erect the attractive new signs at the entrance of Lions Park on Saturday. Here, Brian Nuhn and James
Sampa, Lions Club President (above the signs) help along with Don Corbett, Dr. John Turnbull and
Marlen Vincent. Also helping on Saturday were Paul Spittal and Bill Scott. The signs were donated in
memory of James A. Stewart, who was President of the Lions Club in 1940-'41, by his wife Florence and
son Douglas. In a telephone interview Douglas said the signs help honour his father's long tradition of
Lionism. "Lionism was a very important part of his life," said Douglas. 'The signs are in memory of many,
many years of outstanding service to the Lions Club." His father and both his grandfathers (Harry
Stewart and John Beattie) were among the earliest Seaforth Lions.
