Speakers to
discuss reform of
long-term care
All interested people are wel-
comed to the long-term care
meeting held at the Seaforth
Community Hospital Board
Room on Thursday, Oct. 27
from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
The topic will be community
services as they now exist, and
long-term care reform. Guest
speakers will be Debbie Gable of
Homecare and Linda Knight
from Community Nursing Ser-

• JuJutsu, the 'gentle art of self-
defence' will be offered at the
Vanastra Public School, every
Tuesday and Thursday evening
from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. begin-
ning Nov. 1. Hakko Ryu JuJutsu
is a martial art specializing in
wrist locks and pressure points.
The art originated in 8th century
Japan among the Samurai
worriors. This martial art has
become popular in North
America through the efforts of
Michael J. LaMonica, the
highest-ranking non -Oriental
practitioner of Hakko Ryu in the
world. It is from Mr. LaMonica
that the instructors of the Shin-
ing Mountain Dojo learned the
art. For more information please

The Seaforth Cooperative
Children's Centre will be hosting
a Babysitting Course Nov. 2, 9,
16 and 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. each
night. To register you must be at
least 11 years old. All partici-
pants will be registered/certified
through the Red Cross Society.

on to first place

The Partridges held on to first
place in the St. James Bowling
League with a 5-2 victory over the
Jays on Mon., Oct. 17 at Starlight
Lanes. Arie Van Diepen led the
Partridges with 228, 212-632,
Connie Marion 249-577 and Janice
Morris 250-574. Top bowlers for
the Jays were Murray Bennewies
343,238,200-781 and Wilhelmine
Poppe 207-532.
The Loons moved into second
place with a 7-0 win over the
Doves. Kevin Johnston topped the
Loons with 231,215-637, Martin
Van Bakel 277-631, and Bob
Dinsmore 222-613. Don Nolan
paced the Doves with 203,218,226-
647.
The Eagles ended the evening
with a 5-2 score over the Emmus.
George Love led the Eagles with

A Tribute to those who
served their country in
military service.
As Remembrance Day approaches, we
would like to honour those area
veterans who contributed to the cause
of victory through military service.
If you know of someone from the
Seaforth area who served in the
Canadian Armed Forces during the
World Wars or Korea, we would like
you to submit a war -time photo and a
brief summary of their service if not
more than 100 words.
If the veteran is still alive, we would
also like a contemporary photo. If you
do not have a contemporary photo
please contact one of photographers by
Wednesday, October 26.
All 'submissions are due in the office
of The Huron Expositor by Friday,
October 28.
