The team is (front row) Katie Holland, Tanya Altman, Stephanie Dale, Tricia Jansen, Jessica Finlayson, (second row) Kim Janmaat, Kim Devereaux, Nicole Munro, Danielle Kistner, Lorraine Blake, (back row) Gayle Van Beek, Marsha Denys, Melissa Van Bakel, Sarah Agar, Claire Eckert, Sarah Noakes, Mrs. Visser (coach). Local schools excel at cross country meets recently Local schools performed well in recent cross country competi- tions. Seaforth Public School won five firsts at a cross country meet at Hullett Central whicl: included Blyth, Clinton, Hulleu. Seaforth, Huron Centennial and Vanastra schools. The Junior Girls and Junior Boys were both winners, as well as the Inter- mediate Boys and Girls and Senior Girls. Lindsey Stephen won first in the Junior Girls followed by second place Shannon Moir. Matt McLellan was second -(1011 place in the Junior Boys. "" --"- Derek Nesbitt was third place in the Intermediate Boys. Sarah McLellan was first in the Senior Girls and Brent Webster was third in the Senior Boys. In the Huron -Perth meet at Wildwood Conservation Area the St. James School 11 and 12 girls placed first, led by first place Nicole Munro, second place Kim Devereaux, third place Marsha Denys and fourth place Jessica Finlayson. Other team members were Lorraine Blake and Robyn Nash (who placed 8th and 9th respectively). Ryan Van Dooren placed third in the 11 & 12 boys. At the same competition Kyle Verberne, of St. Patrick's School in Dublin, place second for the 8 and under boys. Melissa Wall placed first for the 9 and 10 girls. Arnie Dekroon placed first for thc 13 Ind over girls. Amber Soleski placed second for the 13 and over girls. In a competition at St. Michael's School the 9 and 10 girls placed third over all. Hullett to take part in CHuMS Hullett Township has decided to participate in the Central Huron Mobility Service (CHuMS). The township held a special meeting on Oct. 11 where it passed the bylaw to provide and operate a public transportation system for eligible persons within the municipality, with thc towns of Clinton and Seaforth and townships of McKillop and Tuckcrsmith. At its regular meeting a week previous Nutlet Council approved a request from its roads superintendent, and approved the purchase of seven dozen trees from Baker's Nursery at a cost of $9.75 for maple and $8.25 for ash. The township also carried a motion to hire A.M. Ross to make plans for Middleton Bridge, to replace it as a cement culvert at concession 8/9, lot 36, and also plans for a bridge deck and to repair side rails on Kennedy's bridge.
