Trophy symbol of warmth
Recently the KKN II team of the
Seaforth Men's Industrial hockey
team held its summer Barbecue
party near Dublin hosted by Brian
Melady Sr., coach and general
manager of the club. Known as
Punch, for his style and his look-
alike Imlach hat, he donated the
Pete Flanagan Defensive Excellence
cup as an annual award. Shown in
accompanying photo is Larry
Coyne, East William St. after win-
ning the award for '93-94.
Pete Flanagan was a defenseman
for the club. He passed away early
in the season. Larry is seen in

ing the symbol and memory of
Pete's competitive sportsmanship
Rookie camp
The Seaforth Centcnaires opened
Rookie Camp last week with three
practices in preparation for their
21st Ontario Hockey Associatioo
Junior Development League season.
General manager Gregor
Campbell says the player turnout at
about 45 wasn't as large as last
year, but it was more manageable
number and the quality was better.
The Cents play their first exhibi-
tion game Friday at 8 p.m. when
they host the Western C League's
Brussels Bulls to their second
annual Rookie Game at the Seaforth
and District Community Centres.
Then the Seaforth juniors get the
remainder of Labour Day weekend
off, resuming practice on Wednes-
