Terry Fox run
now approaches
The Terry Fox Run is just
around the corner! You can pick
up your pledge sheets anytime to
get a head start on your collec-
tion. The run-walk-bikeathon
will be held on Sunday, Septem-
ber 18 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at
the Seaforth and District Com-
munity Centres. Pledge sheets
are available at Town Hall,
Recreation Department, all
banks, the post office and vari-
ous other downtown businesses.

Trade up! The Seaforth Branch
Library invites all children ages
6 to 8 to come out and Trade up
to the book leagues. This sum-
mer reading program takes place
at your local Seaforth library on
Tuesday, August 9 and Tuesday,
August 16 at 2:00 p.m. Children
will enjoy stories, games, crafts,
and author trading cards.
The Seaforth Library wilt also
be hosting a Teddy Bear's Picnic
on Friday, August 12 at 11:00
a.m. This program is for children
ages 3 - 6 years. Bring your
lunch and Teddy Bear and enjoy.
Cake and lemonade is provided.

50th anniversary
The last call is being issued for
all current and former Junior
Farmer members to get their
tickets for the 50th Anniversary
Celebrations. The Golden Anni-
versary Reunion of the Junior
Farmers Association of Ontario
will be held Sunday, August 14,
1994 at the Ontario Agricultural
Museum in Milton.
Tickets must be purchased in
advance and include admission
to the Agricultural Museum and
the renown Quilt Festival (gates
open at 10 a.m.), a BBQ chicken
lunch (12 noon - 1:30 p.m.),
official ceremonies (1:30 - 2:00
p.m.) and a program of special
events running throughout the
day. The events include: Square
Dancing by winners of Sing
Swing, Family Fun and Social
Recreation led by graduates of
the Great Lakes Social Recre-
ation Workshop, Decade and
Leadership Camp reunion areas,
a slide show and video presenta-
tion of the history, fun and many
accomplishments of Junior
Farmers and sing songs led by
talented song leaders.
Most importan ly this will he a
casual family-oriented day with
plenty of free time to renew old
friendships and to reflect on the
success of this organization. For
the past fifty years, Junior
Farmers has lived up to its motto
"To Build Future Rural Leaders
through self help and community
betterment."

Agencies join to
promote tourism
in Huron County
This summer the Huron
County Boa.d of Education, the
Huron Community Futures Cor-
poration, the Huron County
Department of Planning and
Development and the Huron
Tourism Association have united
forces to promote Huron
County's second largest sector:
tourism. These agencies are
designing a Group Bus Tour
Manual to be used by various
tour operators throughout
Ontario and the Northeastern
United States. As well, the man-
ual will be used by the local
school board to develop educa-
tional trips to Huron County
sites of interest. Accommoda-
tions, dining, attractions and
special annual events will be
highlighted within the manual.
The manual will also help
promote Huron County's largest
industrial sector. agriculture.

groups in the tourism business or
a related industry wishing to be
listed in the Manual should
