BY TIM CUMMING
Expositor Editor
Work on a Tuckersmith Township
bridge could cost more than one
quarter of a million dollars, cotuicil
was told at its July 5 meeting.
Council was told that to receive
the $148,700 supplementary grant
from the province the township
would have to spend $165,000.
Tuckersmith Council agreed to
accept the 1994 supplementary
subsidy and proceed with the work
on the bridge at lot 9, concession
12, Huron Road Survey.
Tuckersmith's Clerk -Treasurer
also informed council that it would
have to get the approval of the
Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) if
it committed any future council to
expenditures.
Council agreed to use money
from the reserve account for any
non -budgeted expenses. The clerk
will apply for OMB approval for
the project.

against Tuckersmith Township to
the insurance company was not
approved at the July 5 council
meeting.
A claim for damages was issued
by a Tuckersmith farm operation as
a result of the 'hazardous' drainage
channels on the edges of the
municipal road allowances.
