If your lawn is yellowish or appears very dark green and your footprints don't spring back, your lawn is dry. In summer, many people mistake drought for insect or disease damage. Lawns can dry out very quickly, especially around paved areas or sidewalks. A lawn requires 2 to 3 cm (1 to 1 1/2 Mhos) of water each week. It Is best to water your lawn in the morning so that the leaves can dry, yet most of the water has a chance to penetrate Into the soil before evaporating. Deep watering encourages desirable deep roots. Water should be applied deeply and infrequent - IY. t you notice any symptoms of drought, water immediately. Next Week: Creeping Charlie.
