Parents taught us right from wrong
CRAIG SOMERVILLE
Today we are here to say farewell
to Seaforth Public School for all the
wonderful days that have swiftly
passed by to this final day which is
graduation. -In-- the next few
moments I would like to tell you
about the exciting times at Seaforth
Public School as well as thank
some important people in our lives.
For most of us the big journey
through public school started in
1985. Some of us started school
here in Seaforth and some started in
Walton then moved on to Seaforth
in grade four while others have
come and gone through the years.
As we look back over our years
in public school we remember
many different things we did like
going on trips to Toronto to visit
the Toronto Metro Zoo and this
year we went to Canada's
Wonderland for our graduation trip.
In the primary grades we always
visited Wawanosh Conservation
area.
Craig Somerville, Seaforth Public
School Valedictorian
Every September we marched
down the main street of Seaforth
for the fall fair. I think everyone
enjoyed to see this day come
around because it was a day of fun
and also they got a day off school.
The sporting events like the
soccer tournament held at Huron
Centennial in Brucefield and track
and field always was a fun filled
day with everyone showing good
sportsmanship. Sometimes we even
won at the tournaments but when
we didn't we still had lots of fun.
The Spring or Christmas concerts
were always a frustrating time, with
people forgetting their lines and
missing their cues, but when it was
the night of performance it was
always a hit.
Now after all that you probably
thought all we did was have fun,
well your wrong that was only a bit
of school the rest of the time was
spent learning formulas for math
and trying to Team verbs and nouns
which some of us probably just
learnt what they are this year. There
is one time when you didn't have to
work and that was when you got
sent to the office for getting into
mischief and sometimes it wasn't
even you who did it.
Before, I go I would like to thank

Road to our dreams
some people. First I would like to
thank Mr. Mlllson and Mr. Lyons
for preparing us for high school so
we can have a successful year next
year. - -
When we get sent down to the
office we usually will come visit
this guy. Mr. Tremmer has always
been there for us and usually his
punishment weren't to severe.
Now there are few teachers in the
school who I haven't thanked like
Mrs. Griffen who taught us how to
play the recorder and Mrs. Holmes
who showed us how to say words
like house in French and taught us
about the passed and future temps.
Also there is Mrs. Renyolds who
always organized our houseleague
sports to keep us out of trouble at
recess.
Most of all I would like to thank
you parents for raising us right and
showing us right from wrong. Hey,
if it weren't for our parents we
wouldn't be here graduating today.
As our last few moments at
Seaforth Public School are coming
to an end and we are closing a
small chapter of our lives I would
like to say farewell to all my fellow
classmates and wish them well in
things to come in the future.
Thank you.

DUSTIN STECKLE
The night has finally come!!
Teachers, staff and fellow
graduates, parents and special
guests, welcome to this very
Important night. And if you don't
fit into any of these categories we
welcome you tool
It is hard to believe this night is
here already. It might not have
seemed that long to our parents, but
were they the ones who rode noisy
busses to school, and sat inside
while the sun is shining outside? I
guess school wasn't quite that bad
even though some days took forever
to end.
Nine years ago school was quite
different. We looked up to the
Grade Eights. Some as heroes and
others as monsters who teased and
picked on us.
Kindergarten wasn't too hard to
take. We coloured, played fireman,
and even played in the sandbox.
Sleeping on towels was the toughest
to take.
Grade One was a big step. No
more naps, no more fire trucks to
race around, and worst of all, no
more sandbox! Now, we actually
had to do work. Michael
Stephenson learned a valuable
lesson. It was either keep his mouth
shut or learn to like the taste of
soap.
Grade Two came along with our
trip to the Indian Village in
London. It also brought our annual
trek to the creek. Lori would like to
try to forget that trip.
Grade Three introduced us to Mr.
Marsh's guitar and two classes of
hyper kids who loved to sing. It
seemed that all that we did that
year was sing songs. Songs such as
This Little Light of Mine, Puff the
Magic Dragon, and If all the
Raindrops were Lemondrops and
Gumdrops.
Grade Four was the year we
actually got down to hard work.
Sometimes we even had homework.
It also began to sink in that we
were more important because we
were in the Junior hall.
In Grade Five everybody who
wasn't in Mr. Walkers grade 4/5
class the previous year learned a
new sport. Soccer Baseball. I
believe our school is the only
school in the county if not Ontario
to play soccer baseball.
Now we were the big kids of the
Junior Hall. Grade six brought us
V.I.P. Values, Influences, and
Peers. Sometime Constable
Marshall would come in and talk to
us about drugs and the law.
Then it happened. We were in the
Senior hall. Mrs. Ryckman was on
a maternity leave so her class got
stuck with or should I say has the
pleasure of having Mr. McKay as a
substitute. After Christmas Mrs.
Ryckman came back and to tell you
the truth we were all scared. But
Dustin Steckle,
Huron Centennial valedictorian
the rumours the Grade Eights had
told us were wrong. She wasn't as
tough as we thought she would be.
Grade Eight was here!!! We were
the Kings and Queens of the Castle,
Numero Uno. This was our
toughest year yet but we struggled
through it. Then the long awaited
trip to the Detroit -Windsor area
arrived to make our struggle worth
while.
Making it to the Grade Eight
graduation has been a long road.
Sometimes the road is straight and
level and other times it is hilly and
full of potholes. We've followed
along this road hoping to find our
dreams. We all have our dreams.
Arthur will snowmobile across
Canada, Michele will live with the
Dolphins and B.J. would have his
own collection of books called
"Great Playoff Moments."
And the big question is can Niki
and Becky actually go a day
without calling each other.
We owe a big thanks to all the
teachers who have helped us over
the last nine years. To Mr. Jewitt
and Mr. Black who have kept us on
track.
We also owe a big thanks to Mrs.
June Cooper. For the past nine
years she has patched our ows and
booboos. She's called our parents
when we were sick. She kept her
watchful eye on us when we were
sick in the sick room.
We should thank our parents who
are good-looking, witty and bright.
Obviously it runs in the family.
I would like to thank my
classmates who elected me W this
position. Itis a great_ honour.
I leave you with this closing
poeThe door to the future is open,
with many roads to follow.
Through the door lies happiness,
but also grief and sorrow.
So choose with care the roads
you take,
the ones down which you'll travel.
For some are paved with
surface smooth,
and others strewn with gravel.
