Clinton police seek
man in -.case of
exposing himself
By PAUL CIUFO
Clinton Police are looking for
a man who exposed his genitalia
to children recently.
The man is described as white,
about 35 years old, chubby, 5'6"
to 5'8" and brown -haired and
drove a yellow or orange van
with white lettering on it, said
Clinton Police Chief Frank
Young.
"There were two reported
incidents between 8:30 and 9 in
the morning on Tuesday, June
14. when kids were on their way
to school," Young said.
"In one incident, on
Townshend Street, he drove by a
group of 12- to 13 -year-old kids,
parked the van, and walked on
the sidewalk towards them,
exposing himself."
The man also approached two
girls at the corner Of Rattenbury
and Cutter Streets and asked
them for directions to the lumber
store, said Young. He work
jeans and short -sleeved shirt and
carried a clipboard. One of the
girls, 13, noticed that the man's
fly was open and he was not
wearing underwear.
After both incidents, the man
got back into his van and left.

None of the children involved
noted the licence number, nor
did they report the incidents
immediately, which makes it
difficult to catch the man, Young
said.
"It is very important to get a
licence number. We can tell you
in 30 seconds who owns the van.
"And children should report
these things right away, to the
police, a teacher or a
neighbour." Young
recommended children look for
a house nearby with a
'Neighbourhood Watch' sign in
a window,
"'hien we can get a quicker
jump on it and apprehend the
man,"
He has . informed all the
schools and asked them to make
announcements about the
incidents.
He has also checked around
the county and found no other
reports of similar incidents.
"Here's hoping this man .is
harmless," he said. "But who
knows if he won't go off the
deep end?"
