School says goodbye to teacher
St. James School in Seaforth said
goodbye to one of its favourite
teachers on Monday. Celeste
McCreight, who joined the staff in
1985, was given a fond farewell by
the entire student body. She taught
at St. James in Seaforth, St.
Columban School and St. Patrick's
School in Dublin.
Mrs. McCreight taught grade 5/6
from 1985-87 and then joined the
resource team from 1988-94.
"Some of my happiest years
teaching have been at St. James.
The staff is terrific. There are really
good kids," said McCreight, who
was a musical leader at the school.
The school choirs and Mitchell
Music Festival were under her
supervision.
"Her good humour will be
missed," said Principal Jim
McDade.
"We will miss the harmony she
was able to draw from the
children," states a message in the
St. James newsletter.
Songs were performed in Mrs.
McCreight's honour, including a
song sung by the entire student
body to the tune of "We're Off to
Dublin," written by teacher Gwen
Hugill.
Students also said goodbye to Ed
