Co-sponsored by jobsOntario Training and the Employment Training Committee of Huron Community Services Network. Tory comeback, says Charesl The federal Progressive Conservative party may be in tat- ters, but its leader Jean Charest believes Canadians must eventual- ly turn back to the Tories if they want a party with a national vision as an option to the governing Liberals. We are a national party. In this country, if you don't represent a national political force, you can't hope to form a government," Charest told an audience of about 60 Grand Bend area party faithful at an informal breakfast at Oakwood Inn, June 7. Charest contends both the Bloc Quebecois (the official opposition) and the Reform party are too regionally based (the Bloc in Quebec, Reform in the west) to have the mass appeal needed to win an election. "I don't want a referendum in Quebec. But, I guarantee that if there is one, you and I will be there to fight for our country," he said.
