Hensall fair successful
despite wet weather
The Hensall Spring Fair was a
great success - despite a little bit of
rain. Few spirits were dampened
with the rain, especially for the
fellows participating in the Tug-of-
war competition!
The Hensall Fair Board invites
volunteers to an Appreciation Night,
scheduled for June 20. The dinner
will be at the Hensall Community
Centre, at 7 p.m.

delight of the crowd at the Hensall Fair parade on the weekend.
Dublin bids farewell to Priest

Thomas Janisse who has left the
parish due to ill health. A well -
attended crowd enjoyed a Pot Luck
Dinner. The Parish Council and the
Catholic Women's League
participated. Ferg Kelly presented
Father Janisse with a fancy handbag
of envelopes and gifts from the
parishioners. The children enjoyed
a variety of games outside. Father
Janisse thanked the parish for its
kindness. Everyone wishes him a
complete recovery.
Deepest sympathy of the
community is extended to the Doyle
family - Nell and Ted of Dublin
and Frank of Scarborough on the
recent death of their sister (Sister
Theodore) who passed away at The
Pines, Chatham. Sister Theodore
was 67 years in the Ursuline Order,
and taught in several schools. A
great number of people remember
her kindness and service.
Rose Marie Murray, Waterloo,
visited her mother (Katie Murray)
and attended the Bridal Shower for
Lucille Delaney.
Lucille Delaney (whose marriage
to Neil Panzicra will take place in
July) !Ind a very enjoyable bridal
shower last Sunday, at her parents'
home. ,Nvlany relatives and friends
attended including Neil's mother
and,,sister - Rose Panzicra and
Ange.. , Lucillc's three sisters

humorous skit. Maureen Van De
Walle read an enjoyable address she
had composed. Jayne Walsh
planned and organized the afternoon
- she was helped by her sisters and
her mother, (Mamie Delaney) and
Lucille's little neices. A delicious
meal was served and gifts opened.
Everyone wishes Lucille and Neil a
wonderful life ahead! '
Pat Delaney celebrated his 40th
birthday on June 4, joined by all his
family. He was also happy to have
John Kuilbocr (from St. Peter's
Seminary - who is helping in St.
Patrick's Church) join the group.
Mamie Delaney celebrates her
birthday today. Mamie and Pat, all
your friends say "Happy Birthday!"

who recently left Dublin - Herman
and Pcta Van Bakel who moved to
Mitchell and Frank and Rosa Van
Bergen who moved to Seaforth.

Retired Perth teachers meet
The Perth Unit of district nine
STO (Superannuated Teachers
Organization) held a cr;.eting at
Stratford Country Club on Tuesday,
June 7 with a small but happy
group of retired teachers. Harold
Wisternoff, Perth President, opened
the dinner meeting. He also thanked
the caterers for the delicious meal.
June Boussey (Huron -Perth
President from Clinton) along with
Ralph and Eleanor Smith from
Huron, were pleased to join the
crowd. June welcomed the group
and reminded everyone of the
October 13 noon dinner in Scaforth.
Ralph Smith brought greetings from
the Huron group.
Harold Wisternoff introduced Ken
Varley, whose musical interlude on
the piano was enjoyed by all.
Bob Moorehead introduced a

Seaforth and District Horticultural
Society held a meeting at Seaforth
Public School last Wednesday. The
meeting was opened by President
(Helen McNaughton). Minutes were
read by Scarlet Swan. Treasurer's
report was presented by Dilys
Finnigan. Civic improvement was
discussed by Eleanor Horst.
Dorothy Papple discussed a Social
Committee report.
Nancy Kale introduced the guest
speaker, Marjorie Philips, who
gave a fantastic display of the 'Art
.of Pressing Flowers'.
Ruth Beuttenmiller thanked
Marjorie and presented her with a
gift.
Members were reminded of the
garden tour on Sunday, June 26
which included the following flower
gardens at the homes of, Sandy and
Gladys Doig; Margaret and Dick
De Jong; John and Mary Van Loon;
Marjorie and Frank Phillips; Helen
and Bob McNaughton; and Jean
and Bill Durst Anyone able to take
this tour meet at Scaforth Public
School at 12:30 p.m.Members were
also reminded of the Flower Show
on August 10 at Scaforth Legion.
The meeting ended with lunch.
