Since 1896 five generations of the Sills family have provided good service to the customers of the Seaforth hardware store. It is probably Seaforth's oldest existing business. "It has been totally under Sills management except for the first seven years when it was shared with William Murdie in a partner- ship," said Frank Sills. George A. D'Orlean (Der) Sills, Frank's brother and another partner in the firm, passed away on May 12, 1994. A new generation of the Sills family is now employed at the store in Tracey Sills, Jim's daughter. Customers of the store benefit from the Sills' many years of experience and receive one-on-one service. Patrons also benefit from the Sills association with Home Hardware.
