June 8. 1994 Seaforth Manor gives high standard of care The Seaforth Manor delivers excellent the residents programs the Retirement and Nursing Homes. Administrator Ruth Hildebrand promises that throughout the 1990's Seaforth Manor "will continue to give the good care we have always given." Seaforth Manor provides a high standard of health care and meets physical, emotional, social, intellec- tual and spiritual needs of the resi- dents. In 1993 Seaforth Manor was rewarded with another three-year accreditation. "We're quite pleased," said Ruth, noting that standards for the award are getting higher and higher. Licensed as a nursing home by the Ministry of Health the Manor is a unique facility in Seaforth because it provides a home to resi- p dents requiring nursing care in its c Long-term care section (or nursing a home) and also provides care for a residents who are more independent th in its retirement home. Seaforth Manor has a full activa tion program with Cheryl Phillip as activation director. The facility offers a wide range of rograms from the woodworking lub to a baking club to manicures nd church services. There is an ctive 'Young at Heart' group in e retirement home. High school udents come in and help with a ariety of activities. There are also tergenerational programs at the ursing home with the public hool and nursery school. The nursing home has about 63 idents and there are about 33 idents in the retirement home.
