Sports store serves need in area "Seaforth is a big sporting town," says Rob Dupee, owner of Seaforth Sports at 11 Main Street. "It didn't have a sports store and I felt it was an area that needed to be served." The local entrepreneur filled that gap with the addition to the downtown of Seaforth Sports in August of 1993. The store offers a wide range of products including custom lettering for teams or individuals, baseball equipment and uniforms and licensed merchandise. The business also hopes to stock hockey equipment as well as expanded footwear and clothing lines. Rob recalls his motivation in starting the store: "I always enjoyed and was involved in sports so I decided to start a business in that area." The sports business sees great potential for growth as local people purchase apparel for their teams. Rob is confident that once people learn what is carried at Seaforth Sports, the store will grow. The local business offers exceptional service and product knowledge. "We carry only sports -related products so we can better serve the customer," he said. The store also offers individual ordering. "All you have to do is ask." Customers make favourable comments about the competitive prices, up-to-date styles and knowledgeable staff. Seeing a satisfied customer and a return customer is one of the highlights of the business, according to its owner. Rob feels confident the store will be able to compete. Owners Ken Cardno and Don Eaton say automation and stream- lining of the office will allow the business to process more new pol- icies and endorsements directly in the office. This could greatly reduce the present turn -around time of two to three weeks. "The rapid changes in the insur- ance and financial industries will require the insurance broker to streamline his office operations to better serve the client," said Ken Cardno. The owners of Seaforth Insurance are able to provide the client with personal service as well as competi- tive price in coverage due to the availability of several insurance markets. The majority of insurance companies which Seaforth Insur- ance represents are located within a 50 -mile radius, said Ken. Of course, the business also pro- vides residents with good, local service as well as good, low rates. E'S FINALLY DONE IT!
