Entrepreneur Larry McGrath
entered the business world when
another local firm ceased the
plumbing and heating end of their
business. That was in 1987. Since
that time the business owner has
strived to serve the heating and
plumbing needs of customers in
Seaforth, Egmondville and outlying
areas.
Mr. McGrath, who works on his
own, says having complete control
of the business is satisfying but
sometimes challenging. Dealing
directly with the customer sets his
business apart from many enter-
prises.
He says the goal of the company
is "to maintain good business prac-
tices and satisfy customers."
The owner of L. McGrath Plumb-
ing and Heating got his start in the
plumbing and heating business with
Sills Hardware. While there he
received his gas fitter's and plumb-
ing licenses.
Larry McGrath's wife Dianne is
secretary of the business which is a

ing Inc. is located at 25 Victoria
Street in Egmondville. The mailing

Men's Wear store provides
service with tuxedo
rentals, free alterations
Tuxedo rentals, free alterations,
competitive pricing, and great selec-
tion are just a few of the things that
set apart Cardno's Men's Wear in
Seaforth.
Owner Liz Cardno launched the
store in September, 1993 since
Stewart Brothers was closing and
she felt the town needed a men's
wear store. Liz felt confident open-
ing her own men's wear store
because of the excellent training she
had received while working at
Stewart Brothers.
Now Liz has her own staff, a
friendly and enthusiastic group that
aims to please every customer who
enters the store. Seaforth residents
have responded warmly to the
special attention they receive at
Cardno's. Satisfied customers return
again and again because the selec-
tion is terrific and the prices are
right, even lower than the city at
times.
Liz hopes her business will con-
tinue to grow and is considering
expanding her merchandise selec-
tion to include sport jackets and
suits if there is sufficient demand.
Her key goal is to do the best she
can to meet the needs of local resi-
dents.
