Lawn bowlers hold spring
meeting, euchre event
The spring meeting of the
Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club was
held Monday evening May 16 at 7
p.m. at the Club House. The meet-
ing was chaired by President Tom
Philips and he expressed appreci-
ation to the women for the fine
house cleaning job of the club
house and to the property commit-
tee for their work on the greens and
grounds.
Betty Tilley read the minutes of
the fall meeting and also gave the
treasurer's report. Roy Triebner, of
Exeter, is the new District Chair-
man.
Jack Muir moved the club have
the Tetley Tea Competition again
this year, seconded by Neil Bell.
Moved by Mary Finlayson and
seconded by Eileen Adamson that a
first aid kit be made available at the
club house. The property committee
is also to purchase a fire extin-
guisher for the club house and a
new ceiling fan for the kitchen.
The books had been audited and
approved by Marie Muir.
There will be a free bowling
again this year for the month of
June - times, Monday, and Friday
afternoon at 1 p.m.; Tuesday and
Thursday evenings at 7 p.m.

Thirty-one bowlers were present
on Monday, May 23 for the open-
ing of the lawn bowling season. It
was good to see some new younger
faces among the members and they
were bowling very well. A pot luck
supper was held at 5:30 p.m.
Winners for the euchre were:
Ladies' first - Ida Diehl; Ladies'
lone hands - Thelma Dale; Ladies'
low - Thelma Pryce; Men's high -
Bill Kelly; Men's lone hands -
Beatrice Stoll (playing as a man);
Men's low - Oliver Pryce.
The next pot luck social will be
held at the club house, June 28 at
5:30 p.m. Hostess to be Jean
Simpson - Edna Bell and Thelma
Coombs. All members are requested
to try and have their memberships
paid by June 15. Good bowling, all.

Laurie Crocker, daughter of
Jim and Helen Crocker of Seaforth
has graduated from the University
of Western Law School.
Laurie is a graduate of both
Seaforth Public and High Schools
and also received her
Bachelor of Arts from U.W.O.
This year Laurie shared The
Gretta Grant Award
in Community Legal Services.
Laurie is articling with the firm of
Ross, Bennett & Lake In London.

Honours History program.
