The fust goal of the game came from a --throw in deep in London's - end. When Dave Murray threw the ball into Brian Melady's foot. A quick shot to the top corner fooled London's goal keeper, Earnie LeVoice, and the home team was up by 1. The lead would not last long as Marconi got a goal back off of a corner kick when the ball bounced off of a St. Columban player and into the net. St. Columban would regain the lead by the end of the half when Mike "Charlie Hassel" Seiler made a nice rush to the corner and placed a cross ball over LeVoice's head. Brian Melady was lucky enough to have the ball bounce off of his head for his second of the game and the half ended 2-1 for Si. Columban. In the second half, St. Columban came out very slow and the London Team had their opposition on their heels. After weathering the storm for 30 minutes. St. Columban would get the insurance goal they needed when John Jordan and Dean Martin made some nice plays before Martin was able to get the ball past keeper LeVoice. Within the next 10 min. St. Columban would get goals by Steve Ryan and Dean Martin and the game ended 5- 1 for the home team. Strong games by Mauro Mascioli and Wayne Ryan in centre full back helped give the St. Columban team their first win this season. Their record thus far is 1-1-1 and their next game is Saturday, in London.
