Julianne Ryan. The minutes were
read and adopted by Amy Elston.
We then read Dying to be Thin. We
had a guest speaker, Rod Selves,
who spoke on anorexia neruosa.
Afterwards, we practised our dances
for achievement night and we also
had a question and answer period.

Finally, each group thought up a
dress -code and a name for each
group that has to dance at achieve-
ment night. --.._
Our achievement night is on June
16, 1994 in the basement of the St.
Columban Church. Tricia Jansen
motioned the meeting adjourned
and Jeannette Crowley seconded the
meeting to be adjourned. We then

Exercise adds
life says local
guest speaker
Individual exercise will maintain
fitness after team sports are no
longer so convenient, high school
athletes were told on Wednesday
night.
"When you graduate you won't
have the availability of teams as
much," said Julie Twynam, a for-
mer student of Seaforth District
High School. "Invest in your health,
it is your future...fitness not only
adds life to your years but years to
your life."
The successful fitness consultant
had a full gymnasium of people
standing up and stretching to begin
her talk on fitness.
She told the audience a Little
activity can not only improve health
but it can relieve stress. If you feel
frustrated about something go out-
side and take a walk, she suggested.
The guest speaker at the 1993-'94
Athletic Awards said she recalled
coming to the Seaforth school for
grade eleven.
"All of a sudden I was in a new
town, a small town...it was really a
shock." Twynham said the students
soon made her feel very welcome.
Students were told they will bene-
fit from the people they have met at
high school as well as learning
teamwork.
