Blyth seeks street musicians
Can you sing? Play the guitar
(or fiddle, banjo, harmonica)?
Juggle? Mime? Your chance for
stardom may have arrived.
The Blyth Business Associ-
ation is looking for street enter-
tainers (sometimes called
"buskers") to entertain on the
village's main street as part of
the Blyth Rutabaga Festival,
June 25.
"There will be hundreds of
people on main street before and
after the Rutabaga Festival par-
ade and we'd like to keep them
entertained," says Carol Irwin,
president of the newly -formed
Business Association.
Those entertainers selected to
entertain the waiting audience
will have the chance to earn
donations from the audience.
"Buskers" entertain audiences in
return for donations. The more
entertaining, the more donations
are earned.
Anyone interested in taking
part in this fun event should
contact Katherine Safr, head of
the promotion committee of the
Blyth Business Association, 523-
9137.
