M000000! - A chorus of "moo's' was sung by Gwen Hugill's kindergarten class from St. James School
when they saw the milk tank at Eckert's dairy farm north of Seaforth. The class toured the dairy farm
on Thursday morning and learned about milk production. Pictured from left: Derrick Wolfe, Bryan Bedard,

Children learn about dairy farm
• Where does milk come from?
The students of Mrs. Van Bakel
(Kindergarten A) and Mrs. Hugill
(Kindergarten B) from St. James
School visited Eckert's dairy farm
on Wednesday and Thursday mom-
ings and found out the answers to
many questions about milk produc-
tion.
The children had a chance to feed
a calf with a bottle of milk. After
touring the milking facilities, the
children ate lunch on bales of straw
in the barn. Chocolate milk was
provided by the Eckerts. The
children drank almost one-third of
the quantity of one milking from a
cow.
Many thanks to Eckerts for their
exciting tour and their generous
supply of milk.
The students of Mrs. Van Bakel
and Mrs. Hugill also visited Flower
Magic on April 27 and 28 as part
of their Mother's Day and spring
themes.
Jean Wolfe gave a very interest-
ing tour of the store and green
house. She had each child help
make a floral arrangement and all
