Sporting events of past year
In January of 1994 the Seaforth
Midgets captured their division in
the North American Silver Stick
tournament, held near Sarnia.

The Seaforth Stingers Tween
provincial ringette team won silver
at the westem region competition in
Chatham. The Debs also won silver
while the Petites won gold.

The Seaforth Sizzlers captured the
Petite `A' championship at the
Exeter Ringette tournament in
November of '93.

The Jets under captain Beuy
Hulley were the 1993 Senior
Bowlin: hi h team
Former Seaforth high school
basketball player Ron Vercruyssen
landed a spot on the Belgium
national basketball team.

On December 23, 1994 the
Peewee I hockey team became 'B'
consolation champions during the
Silver Suck tournament held in
Watford.

In January of 1994 Dublin -area
figure skater Kelly Harris headed to
the Canadian under -18 champion-
ships. She won a bronze medal.

O'Reilly advanced to the regional
competition of a Free Throw con -

RENOWNED COLUMNIST - Huron Expositor reporter -photo-
grapher David Scott met Canadian Sports Hall of Fame inductee
Mitt Dunnell, the dean of Canadian sports columnists, during the
1994 convention of the Ontario Community Newspapers Associ-
ation. Dunnell got his start as a sports writer in Stratford and St.
Marys. Scott was receiving the award for Best Sport and Recre-
ation Story, second place, at the Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel.
