The Seaforth Centenaires' Junior
Development Hockey Club Inc. got
the 'rutty gritty' on last season's
$62,000 -plus budget, then renewed
itself at the top with the addition of
five new executive members in the
past week - Shelly Nigh, Jennifer
Watt, Tracey Sills, Karston Carroll
and Dave Murray.
"All of our new directors are
young and proven winners with
strong local roots," said general
manager Gregor Campbell. "I am
elated and expect they will bring
energy and fresh ideas to our organ-
ization. I won't mind taking orders
from any of them."
The five replace treasurer Ann
Bosman, secretary Gail Schroeder,
directors Barb Wau and Joan
Beuermann and assistant coach Joe
Chaffe, all who did not stand for
re-election at the local Ontario
Hockey Association Junior team's
Annual General Meeting at the
Seaford.' and District Community
Centres last Tuesday. Bosman has
been connected with the
Centenaires for three decades,
almost since the club's founding.
She fust became a director in 1978.
Young, local directors
join club
Wayne Wiggins was acclaimed to
his second term as President of the
Centenaires and Campbell returns
for his fifth season as G.M. The
other returning directors are coach
Maurice Guy, Norma Gemmell,
Pete Martene and Maureen
Wildfong. Director and former
assistant general manager and
trainer Patrick Moylan is currently
in British Columbia but may rejoin
the team if he returns. Newcomers
Sills and Nigh will share treasurer's
duties, with assistance from
Bosman during the transition.
Jennifer Watt becomes secretary of
both of the hockey and booster
clubs, and Wildfong becomes presi-
dent of the booster club. New direc-
tors Carroll and Murray are both
will known to local hockey fans as
former long time captains ofthe
Cents. .
The incoming executive left the
door open for the addition of new
directors, if they can be recruited.
