New Foresters are formed The former men's and women's courts of the Kinburn Foresters are now one. The local groups, formerly part of the Canadian Order of Foresters, have amalgamated under the Independent Order of Foresters (IOF). It's the end of one era and the beginning of a new era for a group with a long history of community service. The women's group, Court Constance L184, was installed in June 13, 1958 with Mary Riley as the first president. The final president of the group as it existed before 1994 was Anna Dolmage, of RR 1 Londesboro. The new IOF group, known as Court Kinbum #6157, held its inaugural meeting on Thursday, March 31. (The amalgamation took place officially at the begin- ning of this year). The new Court was installed by _Hudson - _ ijudd). _ . CWL makes local donations The April meeting of the St. James Catholic Women's League (C.W.L.) was opened with the League Prayer. The gospel reading was given by Marie Palin. The Policy and Precedure Handbook for the C.W.L. was approved. Donations were given to Campaign Life Coalition and the Marriage Tribunal. Omitted from the March meeting report was a V -ball challenge The Huron County Junior Farmers is holding the Huron County Junior Farmers' Volleyball Challenge at Ontario Street United Church in Clinton on April 30, 1994. Clothing will be taken to St. Vincent de Paul in Goderich. The elections committee of Marg. Smale, Linda Huard and Geraldine Wilson brought in the new executive of the C.W.L. Past President - Fran Craig; President - Linda Kistner; President-elect - Connie Marian; 1st vice - Marie Palin; 2nd vice - Shirley Cooper; Recording Secretary - Josie Nigh; Treasurer - Mary Barnes. On April 12 the Seaforth Women's Institute held its annual meeting with a dinner at the Blue Fountain in Clinton. Helen MacKenize welcomed everybody. Olive Papple gave the minutes of the last meeting. On April 22 at 2 p.m. Exeter Institute celebrates is 75th year in the Legion. The Slice of Huron was also discussed. The District Annual is May 19 in Grand Bend. Seaforth Institute has the presentation. Olive Papple gave a report on the district meeting that she attended on April 6. The history of the Institute is being written for the Homecoming in 1995. Fall Rally will be held October 3 in Zurich. The annual meeting minutes were read by Sarah Elliott. Clarissa Stewart read a poem, 'What are you doing to -day'. Jean Keyes did the slate of officers for 1994 to 1995.
