Dublin residents have all lost a
special priest and friend (Rev.
Jospeh L. O'Rourke) who passed
away at Hillside Nursing Home
(RR 5 Stratford) on April 2.
Father O'Rourke had a
wonderful calling as a priest in
several parishes. He was not
only a person bringing God's
word to everyone, but he was a
'building' priest who constructed
new parish halls, rectories and
churches. Bishop John Sherlock
of London, celebrated the Mass
of Christian Burial, at St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic
Church, Stratford, on
Wednesday, April 6. He was
assisted by Rev. Mel Mac Isaac,
Rev. Paul Mooney, Rev. Jim
Kerrigan, Rev. Graham Keep,
Rev. Al Williams and Rev. Jim
Williams (of London and
previously from St. Joseph's)
who gave a heart-warming and
touching Homily helping to
Dublin
by Dorothy Dillon

celebrate the life of Father
O'Rourke. Father Williams
ended with encouraging thoughts
- 'Come forward, encourage
people, one message - Message
of hope!'
I (Dorothy) express heartfelt
sympathy to all Father O'Rourke's
relatives (particularly Marg and Ed
Rowland, Dublin) and friends! We
have lost a special priest -friend!
Joe Eckert had the following
visitors; Sister Margaret Rose
Eckert and Sister Rita, Strathroy;
Jerome and Theresa Kelly, Mitchell.
