Brush up on
your painting
Do you want to brush up on
your painting skills?
The Seaforth Recreation
Department will be hosting new
spring programs including water
colour painting starting Wednes-
day, March 30 at 7:00 p.m.
Artist Gwen Kair will instruct
this program, held at the
Seaforth District High School.
For more information or registra-
tion call the Recreation Office at
527-0882.
Dog obedience will begin on
Tuesday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m.
at the Seaforth and District
Community Centres. Step train-
ing and aerobics will also begin
the week of April 12. Tuesday
and Thursday mornings are for
aerobics, and Wednesday even-
ing will be for step training and
aerobics, For more information
or registration on the above
programs please call the Recre-
ation Office at 527-0882.
Also, watch for golf lessons to
begin. Times and dates are to be
confirmed.

The Seaforth Lioness Club
would like to invite you to their
pie sale. The sale will be held on
Saturday, April 2 beginning at
10:00 a.m. at Lyons Foodmarket.
The Seaforth and District
Minor Hockey Houseleague
Finals will be held on Monday,
March 28 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
This night will be the Junior's
First round. The Junior Finals
will be played on Wed. March
30 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. After
the Junior Finals, the Seniors
will play there first round games
from 8:30 to 10:30 pm. The
Senior Finals will be held on
Thursday, March 31 from 8:40
to 10:40 p.m. Come out, watch
and support your team.
Summer Registration for Minor
Ball and Minor Soccer will be
held on Wednesday, March 30
and Thursday, March 31 from
7:00 to 9:00 p.m. each night, at
the Seaforth and District Com-
munity Centres.
Senior Shuffleboard continues
every Wednesday aftemoon from
1:30 to 4:00 p.m. All seniors are
welcome to enjoy an afternoon
of fun and fellowship. You may
also come out and enjoy a game
of Carpet Bowling, Cards or
Table Tennis.

and a flashing bow -tie. He brightens the day of local residents
with his visits to the hospital and nursing homes.
Open house at ambulance base
The Seaforth Clinton and Zurich
Ambulance Services are taking part
in the National Emergency Services
Week. "I would like to acknowl-
edge all the Ambulance Pro-
fessionals in Huron County," said
Brad Lucas, Owner -operator of the
Seaforth Clinton Ambulance Ser-
vice Ltd. "Your skill and dedication
are often taken for granted."
The Canadian Confederation of
Ambulance Service Associations
has declared the week of April 4
'National Emergency Services
Week.'
The Association is a national non-
profit organization representing

at 4-H meeting

entation on baking methods at
the double -meeting of the
McKillop #1 4-H club.
Club members read in their
books about flour and then
cooked recipes from Donna's
cookbook. Kris McNaughton
made a game out of baking.
Nancy Stewart demonstrated
how to decorate a cake and club
members made cupcakes. This
is the last meeting of the
McKillop #1 Baking Buddies.

which in turn represent the Ambu-
lance Operation within the province
and territory. The goal of the
C.C.A.S.A. is to bring about an
improved standard of emergency
prehospital care for all Canadians.
There is going to be an open
house at the Seaforth Ambulance
base on April 4 between the hours
of 2 and 4. The public is invited to
come out and see the base and
ambulances and talk with available
staff.

in Senior Bowling
With only one week left in Se or
Bowling the Fords are in first place
but only four points ahead of the
Chevies. Only three points separate
the bottom teams.
Ron Bennett, with a 314 single,
came within 5 points of Bob Harris'
319 single. Ron also had high triple
648. Olave Little had high single
176 and triple 509 for the ladies.
There were only two other bow-
lers over 200, Eric Matzold 215 and
Art Finlayson 208. However Isobel
Gardiner and Shirley Strong bowled
well over their averages.
Everyone wishes Beryl Reid a
speedy recovery.

After two weeks of playoffs, the
B.F.D's are still on the top of the
ladder. On March 17 the Thursday
Nighters Bowling League saw three
more 300 g they must have
had the luck to Irish with them.
The B.F.D's have a total pintail
of 6885 after six games. Leading
the team were Doug Leonhart
225,357,398-980 and Tom Turner
259.
Moving up throe places are the
Legends with 6711. High scorers
for the team were Gary Bedard

Closing the gap are the Hot

Lavern Hoegy, of Seaforth,
joined with Kitchener's Ed
Teschke for a fifth place finish
in the 'A' category of Wingham
Sportsmen Horseshoes on March
12. The team had three losses
and three wins.
Harold Pridham, of Staffa, won
the 'B' category with partner
Benne Bender, of Hanover. The
team had six wins and one loss.

Hullett says no
infrastructure
money for arena
Hulka Township will not be
spending any of its allocated
infiataructure funds to work at
the Seaforth and District Com-
munity Centres. The township
council acceptedthe Seaforth
and District ommunity Centres
budget at its March 1 meeting.
Hullett's share is $1,287.

Tax arrears collected
As of Mar. 2, $87,017 (or 47.2
per cent) in tax arrears for the
Town of Seaforth have been
collected of the Jan. 1 total of
$184,436. This compares to
S30,385 (or 19.7 per cent) col-
lected for the same period last
year.
