LIONS KICK OFF EASTER SEALS CAMPAIGN - Members of the Seaforth Lions Club were busy last

World Day of Prayer observed

vice, held Carmel Presbyterian

"I'd like to get something started
for the kids in Dublin and area,"
said Hilda Crocker, new club presi-
dent at the Charter Night in St.
Columban on March 5.
The new Dublin -area club is also
a chance for people in the area to
meet each other.
"I found that living in Dublin a
lot of the people didn't really know
each other," said Crocker. The
Optimist club, she said, is a way
"to meet your neighbours and help
the kids out."
The new club is composed of
members from Winthrop to
Cromarty to Bornholm to
Brodhagen. Everyone is welcome to
join, said the new club president.
In her remarks to the Charter
Night, McKillop Reeve Marie
Hicknell thanked the new club for
the work it will be doing for youth
in the community. She said it was
encouraging that while some people
think only of jiemselves the Opti-
mist club was deinking of others.

4-H club elects executive

The first meeting of the Seaforth
1 4-11 Energy Conservation Club
was held at Gerda Van den Hoven's
on Monday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. The
club elected its new officers:
President - Melissa Van Bakcl,
Vice President - Janet Vanden
Hoven; Press Reporter - Ethan
Wallace. The club also made
posters to contain ideas about
energy conservation. Tho club next
met on Mon. Feb. 14, 7 p.m. at
Vanden Hoven's.
