Thurs. Feb. 24 Dave had one goal in a 5-4 home game win over the San Jose Sharks, giving the Senators their long-awaited 10th win of the season. Sat. Feb. 26 McLlwain had no points in an 11-1 home ice pounding by the St. Louis Blues. It was Ottawa's worst loss in their last two sea- sons. Mon. Feb. 28 Dave had no points in a 4-1 home ice loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs: Wed. Mar. 2 'Mac' had one assist on a power -play goal in a 7-2 home ice loss to the Buffalo Sabres. The Senators headed out for an eight -game road trip over 18 days, where the team is winless in its last 16 starts - the longest road winless streak in the NHL this season. Fri. Mar. 4 Dave scored Ottawa's only goal in a 6-1 loss against the Winnipeg Jets in a road game played in Minneapolis. It was the only goal of the third period with assists from Davydov and Yashin. Sat. Mar. 5 'Mac' repeated the same feat the next night with the Senators' only goal in a 6-1 road game loss - this time at the hands of the Bruins at Boston Gardens. Junior ringette team advances to finals The Seaforth Junior ringette team advances to the Huron -Perth finals next weekend, after defeating two excellent teams. On March 6 in Clinton, Seaforth defeated Exeter 12-8. Seaforth opened the scoring with a nice goal by Kathy Devereaux assisted by Debbie Vanden Hengel. Exeter quick!y answered with a goal, but 'alot of penalties by Exeter and hard effort by everyone, goals were scored by Kathy Devereaux (7); Jane Crowley (3); and Kathy Devereaux (2). Great goaltending by Julie Agar and defensive work by Kathy Lavis, Betty Little, Krissy Holland, Amy Siemon and Sherry Hugill kept the score at zero until late in the second period and even then allowing only two. _goals.
