Children make cards,
share zoo animals
Hearts! Hearts! And more hearts!
Valentine's Day was the centre of
activities at the Seaforth Co-
operative Children's Centre for the
month of February. Children made
Valentine Cards, • heart creatures,
stained glass hearts, heart pot
pourries and heart necklaces. As a
special sensory activity the children
participated m making chocolate
hearts and cupids. The children
agreed the tasting part was the best.
On Feb. 16 the children walked to
the bowling alley and had lots of
fun knocking down the pins (mind
you there were a few gutter balls).
The centre will be going bowling
again on March 16.
The last week of February the
theme was "Zoo Animals". The
children were invited to bring in
their favorite zoo animals to share
with their friends. The green room
was transformed into a zoo with
trees and animals and a climber for
all the 'monkeys'. The dramatic
play area was set up as a vet clinic
for the children to care for the sick
animals. The children enjoyed
making animal masks, animal
puppets and cages, safari hats and
binoculars.
The centre welcomes some new
children: Shauna Dewit, Nicole
Baker and Jonathon Thomson. The
facility also welcomes Crista Clark,
Co-op student from Seaforth
Distract High School who will be
there until the end of June. Crista
will be assisting at circle time,
helping with crafts and filing
artwork and assisting the children
with dressing and undressing foi
outside.
Happy Birthdays in the month of
Feb. to Kayle Carruthers, Kaylt
Bishop, Juliet Veens, Krisu
Verberne and Nicole Baker.
