final score of 5-1 for Durham. Scott
Henderson, assisted by Scott Van
Dooren and defenceman, Mike
Murray, was the only goal scorer
for that game.
Fortunately, the team was back to
their normal playing style on Satur-
day Feb. 12, when they defeated
Durham 4 to 2 in Seaforth. Ben
Murray came through with the first
big goal shot from the blueline as
he picked up the pass from Scott
Henderson. J.D. Nolan upped the
score one more when he sent Mike
Murray's pass into the top comer of
the net. The only goal of the second
period went to Scott Van Dooren
who netted the pass from
defenceman, Craig Somerville.
Durham made things tense1br the
fans and the team when they picked
up two goals in the third period
and, with still three minutes to go,
everyone knew it could become
anyone's game. Mike Murry was
determined to set minds at ease as
he carried the puck up the ice,
found J.D. Nolan in the open, and
made a clean pass to his teammate.
Nolan scored to make the final
score 4 to 2 for Seaforth. These
teams meet again in Durham on
Wednesday night.

Seaforth Tykes
pound Brussels
7-1
The Seaforth Tykes entertained
Brussels at the arena on Sunday
February 13 and trounced them by
a score of 7-1. The Seaforth squad
rebounded from a tough loss to
Mitchell the day before and thor-
oughly dominated Brussels for
much of the game. The short
staffed Tykes called up Owen
O'Reilly from their farm system
(The Mighty Mites) and he put in a
real good effort and did not look
out of place.
Brussels opened the scoring early
in the first period but from then on
it was all Seaforth. Bradley
Henderson with the hat trick.
Matthew Camochan with two and
singles provided by Brendan
Murray and Tyler Elligsen.
These goals were often a result of
good passing and nice clearing
work from the Seaforth zone pro-
vided by the defencemen namely
Stephen Medd, Brittany Williams,
Adam Broome and Ryan Nurse.
David Verberne was Seaforth's
"Goalie of the game" and turned in
a solid effort.
The Tykes travel to Tara for a
tournament this upcoming weekend
to meet some new opposition from
the North. Their first game is at 9
a.m on Saturday, Feb. 19 against
Lions Head.
