game when mighty Cheryl Kruse
twirled, shot and scored a swift
pass from Sandy Skinner. Perth
goalie Joanne Innes held them in
the game to a low -margin score.

Socialites never got a break.
Winthrop's Pam Dale grinned from
ear to ear as she scored a quick
slap -shot goal from Tammy
Kennedy and Janice Finlayson.
Another low -score game.
PARR LINE 2 EASY RIDERS 1
Parr Line took the lead quickly
with goals by Glen Lamb and Steve
Radford, help from Ed Salverda and
Don Dolmage. Easy Riders' lone

Campbell, Paul Nyenhuis, Larry

in worship by Rev. Cheryl Ann Stadelbauer-Sampa on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. James Sloan, a
volunteer of the local clergy roster, will provide pastoral care for residents and staff of the Manor.

Nursing Home were honored to
attend and "Induction Service"
performed by Rev. Cheryl Ann last
week as Rev. James Sloan was
formally inducted as "Chaplain" for
the nursing home. Rev. Sloan will
be providing pastoral care,
counselling and visiting for
residents. Carol Carter had
everyone- singing in tune last
Tuesday afternoon as she arrived to

entertain.
Residents also enjoyed a euchre
game Thursday afternoon with
volunteers Anne Downey, Hazel
McGonigle and Dorothy Papple.
Winners included High men - Pat

women - Dora Shobbrook and Lone
hands - Keith Herman. A pyjama
bingo evening was also enjoyed.

The Orioles topped the Cubs 5-2
to hold first place in the St. James
Bowling League after play on
Monday, Jan. 10. Joyce Marcuccio
led the Orioles with 277,224-674
and Rick Elliott 228,226,212-666.
Don Nolan paced the Cubs with
280-626 and Bob Dinsmore
210,202-607.
The Indians moved into third
place with a 5-2 victory over the
Rockies. Top bowlers for the
Indians were George Love

Bennewies was high for the
Rockies with 267,310-775.
In the third match of the night it
was the Tigers over the Braves by
a 5-2 score. High scores for the

S.D.C.S. junior girls

On Thursday, Jan. 13, S.D.H.S.
junior girls volleyball team travelled
to Exeter to compete with both the
South Huron Panthers and the
Goderich Vikings.
The first game was played against
Goderich in which Seaforth came
out with one win out of three under
their belts. The team soon pulled
together and returned to Seaforth
victorious, defeating Exeter 2 sets

Starlight Lanes. Ron Bennett again
had high single for the. men with a
221, with John Van Loon high
triple of 589. Charlie Perkins also
had a 219 and Erich Matzold an
even 200 while Bill Mitchell outdid
himself in the second game with a
189. For the ladies 1 Reid had
higrtipk`of 493 with,W,tty Hulley
high single of 180. Pauline Bennett
bowled over her average with a 159
while Isabelle Gardiner also carne
up with a 164. Betty Oldacre also
had three games over her average.
High pinfall for the day was won
by the Olds although they only
managed tow in three pointe. in
other games the Chryslers took five
points on the Toyotas while the
Chevics took five on the Buicks but
there's always next week. Sorry to
report both Betty Leonhardt and Art
Finlayson have been in hospital but
we wish them a speedy recovery.

Viola Lawson and Kay O'Rourke
Motion was made to have two
prizes $15•and $10 for the fall fair
again this year.
The meeting was tamed over to
Clarissa Stewart. Clarissa had a
poem. Bony Hulley gave a reading,
The Clothes line. Clarissa intro-
duced the guest speaker Viola
Lawson. Viola had taken a trip to
Vancouver last year and had taken
a lot of pictures on her trip.
Clarissa thanked her and presented
her with a gift.

Norman Dodds of Seaforth died
at Stratford General Hospital on
Sunday, January 16, 1994 in his
71st year; Norman Dodds, son of
the late Robert C. Dodds and Edna
Dolmage; dear brother of Hazel
Harburn of Seaforth and Harold of
British Columbia. Predeceased by
two sisters Agnes Glazier and Mary
Riley.
Visitation was Tuesday, January
18 at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral
Home, Goderich Street West,
Seaforth, where funeral services
will be held on Wednesday, January
19 (today) at 3 p.m. Interment
Maitland Bank Cemetery, Seaforth.

The goal of the CURB (Clean Up Rural Beaches)
Program is to reduce bacterial and phosphorus
water pollution in rivers and at swimming beach-
es.
Grants are available to landowners for the repair
or replacement of faulty private septic systems.
. The farm practices and structures listed below
also qualify.

This program is targeted at agricultural and rural resi-
dential areas located upstream of swimming beaches.
Financial assistance Is limited to those applicants who
are polluting watercourses. Projects with the greatest
potential to improve water quality will be given priority
for funding.

Maitland Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA). The
'CURB Program is funded by the Ontario Ministry of
Environment and Energy, and the MVCA.
