Pee Wees down Elora
The Seaforth Peewee I team
played in the second round of the
Legion Tournament held in Clinton
on Saturday, Jan. 8. Elora came on
strong with two early goals against
Seaforth. In the second period Scott
Henderson flipped Craig
Somerville's rebound over the
goalie's shoulder. Shortly after,
Henderson tied the score when he
picked up Ben Murray's pass and,
seeing that centerman. J.D. Nolan,
was tied up, shot the puck and
scored. Henderson, J.D. Nolan, and
Scou Van Dooren combined forces
to put in the third goal with three
minutes left to go in the game.
Goalie Sean Ludwig, who played a
strong game in net, stopped Elora's
breakaway keeping C4th's hopes
up. However, Elora was able to
score to put the game into a five
minute sudden -death overtime
period. No one was able to score
and a shoot out was held. J.D.

skill in net. Kincardine scored early
in the first period and twice in the
second: Seaforth's players showed
good penalty -killing ability but
couldn't seem to get the puck by
the Kincardine goalie until halfway
through the third period_when
Henderson; assisted by Nolan and
Van Dooren, scored. Kincardine
held on to the 4-1 score and went
on to defeat St. Mary's in their
final game.
League play continued on Sun.
Jan. 9, when Seaforth played
Clinton. After Saturday's hectic
games, the Seaforth team took a
little longer to gain momentum.
Clinton kept them hustling and
scored near the end of the first
period. Seaforth came on stronger
in the second but in spite of many
scoring opportunities could not find
the mark. Clinton scored again.
Third period was started with a goal
by S. Henderson who picked up the
pass from J.D. Nolan but even a
strong six man attack in the last
minute of play could not net
another goal for Seaforth. Clinton
won 2-1.
