In spite of the unsure
weather Saturday morning,
the Goderich Children's Fes-
tival enjoyed a good turnout
of families at their 16th
Annual event held at Goder-
ich Memorial Arena.
Celebrating Canada's
150th and Goderich's 190th
birthdays was the theme of
the event with all kinds of
activities like Canadian
themed crafts, glitter tattoos,
dress -up fun, a fishing pond,
play dough, face painting,
sing a long fun with Dan the
Music Man and a high
energy dog agility show by
Four Paws Flying.
Lots of community groups
and businesses joined the
fun with kids activities like
Finchers, Huron County
Library, Little Bowl, Patricia's
Dance Techniques, The Sal-
vation Army, AMGH Foun-
dation, Camp Menesetung,
Camp Kintail, Maitland Golf
Course, Goderich Horticul-
tural Society, Goderich Fire
Dept. and Goderich YMCA
with the 4th Goderich Scouts
providing the food.
As always all the activities
are provided free of charge
to mai n t a i n
the festival's self -chosen
mandate to provide a day of
fun and learning for all kids
regardless of the financial
status of their family.
This is only possible
through the generous dona-
tions received from local
businesses and service
groups, the fundraising
efforts of the all -volunteer
committee consisting of
Amanda Bergsma, Te -Anna
Morgan, Haley MacLennan,
volunteer coordinator Sarah
Campbell and coordinator
Lori Patterson.
