(GODERICH, ON) - It didn't
take long for this dangerous
driver to get back behind the
wheel and drive danger-
ously. Less than two weeks ago
the accused was released from
court with conditions to not be in
the driver's seat of a motor vehi-
cle and to not drive a motor
vehicle.
So much for that, just after
11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20,
2017 Huron County Ontario Pro-
vincial Police (OPP) officers
observed the accused and two
passengers get into a Chevrolet
Monte Carlo that was parked on
Hamilton Street in Goderich. The
vehicle quickly pulled away with
the accused driving.
Officers followed the vehicle
northbound on Victoria Street
and watched as the accused
passed a line of vehicles that
were stopped waiting for south-
bound traffic.
The dangerous driver sped
through an active construction
zone at the bridge located at the
north end of Goderich.
The driver then dangerously
roared by the flagman that was
trying to stop the flow of north-
bound traffic and proceeded to
travel into the oncoming lane of
traffic.
The OPP officer attempted to
stop the motor vehicle however
the driver sped away from police
and was last seen travelling onto
Safford Road.
Earlier this morning an OPP
officer spotted the male shop-
ping in Wingham. He was placed
under arrest and taken into cus-
todywithout incident.
A man of 23 years of age from
South Bruce has been charged
with Dangerous Driving, Flight
While Pursued by Peace Officer,
Fail to Comply with Recogni-
zance and Drive While Under
Suspension.
He was held in custody for a
court appearance at the Ontario
Court of justice in Goderich.

"The last two and a half years I
have been commuting from King-
ston to Goderich and it is time to
take that next step and move to
Eastern -Ontario. I have accepted a
CAO position there," explained
Huron County CAO Brenda
Orchard.
"This is the best job I ever had;
the best Council I have ever had;
absolutely the best senior staff I
have ever had. I am so proud of
the changes that we have made
here and the level of trust, respect
and honesty and level of trans-
parency that takes place in this
room. How Council and staff
build off each other's ideas to
come to the best solutions - this is
magic. This is the way it is sup-
posed to be. I am so proud and it
is so hard to leave."
