Over 80 milligrams charge laid
(HURON EAST, ON) - A 62 -year-
old from Seaforth is facing a crimi-
nal charge of Drive Motor Vehicle
With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol
following her arrest.
On Saturday, June 3, 2017 Huron
County Ontario Provincial Police
(OPP) officers received informa-
tion about a possible impaired
driver in Seaforth.
Just before 5:30 p.m. a
Huron officer spotted the suspect
vehicle, a Mercedes Smart car at
the intersection of Chalk Street and
Duke Street.
Upon stopping the vehicle and
speaking with the female driver the
investigating officer detected the
odour of alcohol on the driver's breath.
As a result, a roadside -screen-
ing test was completed and the
driver registered a Fail. The driver
was placed under arrest and was
transported to the Huron OPP
Detachment for breath tests. She
later provided two samples of her
breath to a qualified intoxilizer
technician; both of her samples
registered over the legal limit.
As a result, the driver, a 62 year-
old woman from Huron East has
been charged with Drive Motor
With Over 80 Milligrams of
Alcohol.
She has since been released from
custody with a court date sched-
uled for July 10, 2017 at the Ontario
Court of Justice - Goderich.
She has also received an auto-
matic 90 -day driver's licence sus-
pension and her motor vehicle was
impounded for seven days.
