1 OLG's new operator in Southwest Gaming Bundle, including Clinton, promises $200 -million improvement Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has signed a 20 -year Casino Operating and Services Agreement (COSA) with Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited (Gateway). Under the agree- ment, Gateway takes over day-to-day operations and the assets of the Southwest Gaming Bundle, which was effective May 9. The Southwest Gaming Bundle includes: - OLG Slots at Western Fair District - OLG Slots at Clinton Raceway - OLG Slots at Dresden Raceway - OLG Slots at Hanover Raceway - OW Slots at Woodstock Raceway - OLG Casino Point Edward On December 13, 2016, OLG announced it had selected Gateway as the service provider for the Southwest Gaming Bundle. Since then, OLG and Gate- way have been working towards concluding a Tran- sition and Asset Purchase Agreement and entering into the COSA. The company plans to invest more than $200 mil- lion in the region, including into additional jobs, said Carrie Kormos, Gateway's vice-president for marketing and communications. Gateway will do a "com- plete overhaul" of its new properties. Kormos said the company wants to give customers a better experience. Neither Gateway nor the OLG has revealed the finan- cial terms of the deal. OLG will get a guaranteed annual payment and the host site and the host munic- ipality will continue to get a share of the revenue. The province remains the regulator of the industry and owners of the properties will continue ownership. "We're still overseeing it. They run the day-to-day business," said OLG spokes- person Tony Bitonti. "We have bought the business and the assets," Kormos said. "In this bun- dle, (the OLG) will retain what they call `conduct and manage. OLG will also continue to own the information col- lected from patrons. OLG has worked with Gateway to help ensure that transferring employees have a smooth and seamless transition. This includes the require- ment for Gateway to retain transferring employees for a period of no less than 12 months in their current posi- tion and geographic loca- tion, and to provide eligible employees with benefits and a registered pension plan. The OLG has been working to modernize its operations and announced more than a year ago it was seeking bidders to lease its facilities in Southwest- ern Ontario, part of a shake-up by Ontario of its gaming opera- tions designed to improve the province's bottom line. At more than $2.2 billion annually, OLG provides the Ontario government with its largest source of non -tax revenue. et s do our 'art, • ease rec c Gateway Casinos & Enter- tainment Limited (Gateway) is the largest and most diversified gaming company in Canada.
