A weekend seminar
planned and designed for all
participants to explore the
process of Yoga while learn-
ing valuable tools to use in
personal lives.
In the last weekend of
May, organized by Rachel
Feddes, "Yoga for personal
evolution" seminar was
hosted at the Clinton Town
Hall and 34 people attended.
"Yoga originated as an
Indian school of practical
philosophy that encourages
its practitioners to empower
themselves in self-care so
that they achieve good
health, healing and spiritual
alignment," explained
Feddes.
"When an appropriate
practise of yoga is done it
can bring a host of benefits:
increase happiness,
improved health and wellbe-
ing, better concentration
and focus, enhanced energy
and vitality, better quality of
life and sense of peace:"
The seminar offered a
space to engage in meaning-
ful conversation, honest
reflection and sincere efforts
to embark on a spiritual
journey.
The weekend seminar
open to all was designed to
help participants empower
them selves to walk on their
own spiritual path of.
transformation.
It included themed pres-
entations, discussions and
practices, including an
acclaimed yoga teacher,
yoga therapist, healer and
spiritual advisor as a guest
for the weekend.
Dr. Kausthub Desikachar
is the successor and current
lineage holder of the classi-
cal Yoga tradition of T
Krishnamacharya and TKV
Desikacher, an international
advisor to the International
Association of Yoga thera-
pists and has authored
numerous books on Yoga.
His objectives include the
sharing of the authentic
teachings of Yoga to the
modern era, as well as build-
ing bridges between differ-
ent healing modalities to
promote physical, emo-
tional, social and spiritual
health.
He is known for his
remarkable, deep and well
versed knowledge and his
ability to present the ancient
teachings in a way that is
profound as well as applica-
ble for modern 'day
practitioners.
