lk Seniors Month
Ar at the MacKay
Centre for seniors
2017 marks the 33rd anniversary
of Senior's Month in Ontario.
This year's theme is "Living Your
Best Life':
It is with that in mind that Mac-
Kay Centre has partnered with Har-
bour Hill Retirement Community
to present a fun and exciting two
day Expo.
The event will be held at the
MacKay Centre located at 10 Nel-
son Street East.
All are welcome to attend. The
event will feature great motiva-
tional speakers, information ses-
sions and refreshments. There is
no charge.
The fun starts on Friday, June 9 at
5:30 p.m. with a beef on a bun and
salads followed by Keynote speaker
Nancy Revie, author and
recreationist.
Nancy describes herself as a
faith -filled extrovert with an opti-
mistic perspective - as a cancer
"survivor-thriver" she made a con-
scious choice to live life to the
fullest.
The event continues on Saturday
June 10 with coffee and muffins at
9:30 a.m. followed by guest speaker
Merri Macartney from Point Clark.
Merri is a fabulous speaker, who
has stated that she is "a gregarious
'funny lady' who has chosen to
look on the brighter side of life."
Through the use of humour she
inspires people to seek out life ful-
filling choices and muster courage
to embrace change.
Kathleen Buckley, MacKay Cen-
tre Coordinator, Stephanie Hart -
wick, Readiness Facilitator, Har-
bour Hill and Judy Jenkins, Elder
Planning Counselor, Lighthouse
Money Management will be mak-
ing
aking presentations.
Scott Woods Show
comes to Lucknow
Upbeat and uplifting; these two
words could well describe The
Scott Woods Show coming on Fri-
day, June 23, to Lucknow.
This is a benefit concert on
behalf of Lucknow Presbyterian
Church projects.
This fast -paced two-hour concert
skilfully combines old time fiddling
with country gospel songs, peren-
nial favourites, and a generous
helping of humour.
Those in attendance will be
treated to one of Canada's best tal-
ents - the man with the flying fin-
gers and the magic bow - fiddling
sensation, Scott Woods.
Scott has performed to enthusi-
astic crowds throughout Canada,
the U.S. and in Holland.
This young man has captured all
the major Canadian fiddling titles,
including Canadian Open Fiddle
Champion, Canadian Grand Mas-
ters Fiddling Champion, and Cana-
dian Fiddle Entertainer of the year.
For seven years he was the musi-
cal director and played the part of
Don Messer in Memories of Don
Messer's Jubilee, a tribute show,
which has toured across the
country.
In addition, he has several
recordings to his credit, which will
be available at the concert.
There are lots of things to watch
for when Scott Woods takes to the
stage.
His keen sense of timing and his
sharp wit will keep you on your

to keep them still as he plays those
old time tunes! Scott is backed up
by his own band.
Together, they stir up a storm of
good music to lift your heart and
feed your soul.

Show are available at West Coast
