Overwhelming success at Stuff the Cruiser Event
(HURON COUNTY, ON) -
The Huron County Ontario
Provincial Police (OPP) Aux-
iliary Unit Members and staff
from the Huron Women's
Shelter would like to send out
a huge THANK -YOU to all
those that supported the 2017
"Stuff the Cruiser" event.
The event was so successful
volunteers had to call in a
"back-up vehicle" after volun-
teers completely stuffed full
the first two police vehicles.
" This event always leave
me in awe of our community.
There were so many kind and
generous people that stopped
by through the day. Your
donations are makig a differ-
ence, thank you so much,"
OPP Auxiliary Acting Ser-
geant Patty Vandermeer said.
A contingent of OPP Aux-
iliary Members and an OPP
retired member, collected
donations outside of the
Goderich Walmart on Satur-
day, May 13 between 1:00
p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Donations consisted of toi-
letries, clothing, housewares,
food items, and linens and
cash donations totalling $727.
Those women and children
that are in need of the invalu-
able services offered by the
Huron Women's Shelter will
utilize all of the donations.
"We are truly grateful to the
Huron OPP Auxiliary for donat-
ing
onating their time and energy to the
"Stuff a Cruiser" event. We live
in a very generous community
and T cannot thank those
enough who were shopping for
their contributions to women
and children who are engaged
with our organization," stated
Donna Jean Forster -Gill, Exec-
utive Director at the Huron
Women's Shelter.
"These items are put to
immediate use by women who
are residing in shelter or in any
of our second stage housing
